Does anyone else in here use ares? if so have you had any trouble recently logging in? I initialize the exe and it stays in a "connecting" state hours on end.....but it asks me if i want to make a nickname..

I seems to experience the exact same trouble with WinMX since several weeks...

i wouldn't use that.... use torrent instead :w00t:
I'm sorry, everything to me is 3xblah. Posting anywhere else make me feel a tinny bit pretentious, heh. I'll try and organize my posts from now on. -snip- Towards the topic of this post however, I'm gonna scrap ares, and start looking for another program. I just don't want to have to mess around with my router, as I forgot the password to get into the config. for it. any suggestions?

That's fair. Well Picard, can you suggest a program for me?

I've been using emule for a while. It seems to be good enough.
I must say I was a bit sceptical about the whole bittorrent thing, but lately I've been downloading quite a few (legal) torrents with pretty decent speeds :ok:
I haven't tried Ares, but as far as I can see, the amount of legal usage this will have is about zero. Just the next Kazaa probably... I'll not try it though.

I usualy download radio-shows from theire own servers, and the speed on the torrents, and exelent.
You get the radio-stations server-speed + the speed of anyone else downloading at the same time.
It's called swarming, and i only see upsides with torrents there.
