Oi! Hopefully this one doesn't have the annoying water in the middle like the other one. Now that this one's here I have to play it as if it's a challenge =).

Well! Atleast I wasn't the only one frustrated by Dizzy in my youth. Atleast I beat a few of them. B)
Just a bit of info about the order the games were released.
Dizzy was originally an 8-bit game (for computers like the spectrum or commodore c64) and Magicland was fourth in the series of games, while Prince of the Yolkfolk was 6th.
I'm not sure about the order they were converted to the PC, but in terms of original releases, Prince of the Yolkfolk is actually a sequel to Magicland, not the other way around.

Dizzy - Magicland was second one converted to PC.
Matt is right, magicland is 4th in series. After first Dizzy, there was Treasure Island Dizzy, then Fantasy world Dizzy (first one I played and to me best one, since everything is cool with items, inventory and stuff) and Magicland.
Dizzy was originaly made for Spectrum and converted to C64 right away. Well, they are fun little logic-platforms. I see there are some really anoyed players. Well, I guess I'll be anoyed too, but on C64 you always could find cracked versions with unlimited lives, so you can focus on adventure part of game. I have Fantasy world and it's great, but you only have 3 lives. On C64 I played this one millions of times and I always lose like 10 to 15 lives. So, I guess PC gamers will never like Dizzy.

Does anyone know about any walkthroughs for Dizzy... I'm stuck! I don't know what to do at all apart from pick up diamonds. How do you wake the sleeping guy and free the planted one? How do you get 30 diamonds for that troll? how do you rescue Dora? I am so confused with this game.
I never liked it as a kid and still don't now LOL!!!
Help?

If you want to play Dizzy the way it was meant to be played, download an easy to use Spectrum Emulator and get all the Dizzy TAP files.
It wasn't that hard to stay alive if your Z and X keys were mapped properly and both worked.
Dizzy 1 was the hardest without a doubt. You could only carry one item at a time which meant you were constantly having to run from one end of the map to the other avoiding the falling raindrops and spiders on webs and fires and bats and all kinds of other things.
Treasure Island Dizzy (the 2nd one) was the only one I couldn't complete. I could never find the 30th gold coin so in the end, after playing all the remaining games (Fanstasy World Dizzy, Magicland Dizzy, Dizzy, Prince of the Yolkfolk and that one I can never remember the name of) I found a cheat that could give you a gold coin every time you press a certain button.
I even played Dizzy 3.5 which came on a tape on the front of a Spectrum magazine. In Dizzy 3.5 you find a strange device in the woods where Dizzy and his friends spend a lot of their time. Dizzy being Dizzy, starts up the machine, and it transports him to Magicland.
Once they changed the format....that's when it got hard. You had Fast Food and then Kwik Snax, Bubble Dizzy, and Dizzy Down The Rapids. All of which starred that little egg that so many kids had grown to love, but that's where the similarity ended and Codemaster's massive sell-out revolution began. I say sell out, but that's just because I didn't like the above mentioned games at all, with the exception of Kwik Snax which I thought was ok.
It's nice to see Codemasters are still going though, after all the endless hours me and my friends must have put into playing their games when we were younger.
Now the games are all about how many Germans or Arabs we can kill.

FYI all you Dizzy lovers:
The first Dizzy was never released for the PC. Treasure Island was the first one released for the PC way back in 1987. The second was Fast Food, also in 1987. THEN came Fantasy World in 1988. Kwik Snax came in 1989 and Magicland came in 1990. The next one was not released for the PC and was called Panic!, which came out in 1990. Prince of the Yolk Folk was also released in 1990 as well as Bubble and Spellbound. Down the Rapids was not released for PC and came out in 1991. Two other titles released in 1991 that were released for PC are Fantastic Adventures and Crystal Kingdom. The last two releases were not ported to PC. They were Adventurer in 1992 and Go! Dizzy Go! in 1993.
Hope this helps all of you.

It might help to remind you that Dizzy's girlfriend is actually Daisy. Dora is his sister, I believe.

Personally I think that TI Dizzy was the best of the lot, does anyone know why it isn't available in a decent format (never been a fan of C64s). I too never found the 30th gold coin, even though I cheated like hell with ICANFLY (if I remember correctly).
TI Dizzy and TSOMI are the two games I remember the most from way back when...
Incidentally, did anyone out there ever actually finish TSOMI without cheating?
