Hey, I've been here for a while but don't talk much. I've been thinking, since the ESA protected games are no longer downloadable, they are pretty much clogging up the categories. Why not add a new category like "All downloadable games"? Sorry if it's already been suggested or in progress or something. It's just a bit confusing going through pages and pages of protected games. :D

It's probably been suggested already, but I think it's a good idea. Such a category would be more useful than for example "most popular", wouldn't it? After all, you can already arrange all lists by popularity, so there's not much point in keeping a separate category for it.

I agree. Besides, I haven't seen many changes on the "most popular" list and I think a "all downloable games" would be so much useful

see the problems with most popular games is half of them arent downloadable. Because back when they were downloadable they were extreamly popular. I think we just need to wipe the popularity thing and re do it completly

Yeah, even if it takes long enough where the once popular ESA protected games slowly drift down the list, right?

Someone would have to make a list of all downloadable games and keep up with it, wouldn't they?

Nah, it'd just search the database like the popularity one does now, only for "NOT ESA Protected" or whatever rather than most downloaded - it's not somebody making a list of the most popular games, they're just very popular from earlier on so they stay on top of the list.

hmmm .. what about a special category for "ESA protected games". They can be subsorted by genre then. wouldn't that lighten up the genres in a more efficient way ?

I have added a Sort by: "Availability" option in the genre listing. That should suffice. Moving all games to ESA protected category would be pointless, and besides, that's why each game is marked as ESA protected in the genre listing itself.

Hope this is a good enough solution

Agree with Kosta, new category of downloadable games is not that cool. Besides, i doub that anyone planned to add 200 games and that some ESA prevent download.

By the way, i thought that you (kosta) might add new category of CGA games, since you disliked them so much.

The Crypt is a couple of weeks old, actually :)
It is meant for games that predates 1990.

No it isn't.
It's for the games that have only CGA graphics (that's not the same) :bleh:
