I know this is a little old news but what do you think of the name of the new Windows?
Personally I could have easily mistaken it for an aprils fools joke if it was April 1st.

It's not as catchy as the other windows names / numbers... but then again it's microsoft......

I've seen that avatar before... in the Elderscrolls forum I think... and I still don't know what it is.
As for Windows Vista, the name may be changed since last I heard there were some copyright problems.

It is the first time that I KNOW I will not rush to buy a new windows version. As long as games will continue to be made for XP I could care less for that resource hog (sp?) that Vista is.

why bother??? Personally, i support 64bit technology, but when there are far superior STABLE versions of linux i.e Gentoo 64 i see absolutely no need for windows vista

Windows Vista is made for being faster than XP, because of the GUI windows XP had it got goddamn slow. So i think i'll but windows Vista because of the speed.
Windows Vista had the codename "Long horn".

with screens that small we would hardly notice if it was like win95 :D
as to how it could run faster, I believe you answered your own question (hint: it has something to do with new computers)
P.S. a popular joke on the subject: " new WINDOWS HASTA LA VISTA: kiss your computer goodbye"

Oh, look. ANOTHER windows. I've already got double glazed ones!

Mmm... I don't really like the sound of it Vista... They should have gone for Windows 2006 or something... Longhorn even sounded better... I like animal names for an OS :)
