This game is fun!!. I played it all the time on my 80286 when I was a kid. Hehe. THIS is gameplay. :D
You can't save your game though, so when you loose, you have to start all over. And it is a very hard game. So you start over a lot of times. <_< Yes sir! ;)

I love this game...alwyas played on my 386...
But i never made it to the end of the game...i always were stucked after i finished about 16 different maps (i think so...3 maps after the map with all the flags around it...)
This game was just too long to finish....

Hmmm...
Controls are just normal (8 + 2 + 4 + 6 and space bar = turbo)
And level 2...just keep trying and use boosters only at long end open ways...
and make sure you take all good shortcuts :ok:

This is a racing game, there is no big strategy that will make you win this. Raw ability will.

I just played the game and I had a really hard time figuring out the controls.
You accelerate with Q, use nitros with A, turn with either Z/X for left turns and C/V for right turns.
Apart from that, the rest is really straightforward. I however experimented random game freeze while playing and since it's really a small game it's not helping my interest in it at all. I played that game a lot when I was young too, worth 15 mimutes of your life if you have nothing else to do.

Nope...in my opinion still a brilliant game...really great to play and still got good graphics...
And it give me much more fun then playing the Need for speed underground :not_ok:

i downloaded, cuz i remember playing it as a young one and it worked the same but it was slow and kind of choppy. Anyone know of reasons for it?? :help: :help:

I've played this before as an arcade game... it was fun. :D I remember it being faster though...
I try to play but it sort of plays itself.... The trucks zoom around by themselves, choose their upgrades themselves, and I pretty much bang the keyboard trying to figure out how to actually controll them. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Forgive my ignorance, but how do you install/run this game? I remember playing this as a kid and searched for it on the net - landed here.

in my DOSBox console I'm being told to choose my video card. it gives me 5 options
1: CGA
2: EGA 16 color (normal)
3: EGA 64 color (switchable color monitors only)
4: VGA
5: Tandy 1000
it doesnt seem to matter which one I choose as it always says "divide bt zero error thankyou for playing Ironman"
I can get no further

The correct choice is:
4. VGA
If you experience stability problems, change the following lines in dosbox.conf:

From what I remember... yes. You just keep on cycling the tracks until you lose. But I think there are more than 6 tracks, and you race them on both directions.

Each time you win on a new track you go back to the first (and swap direction) Then once you beat them all again it adds another. Then it repeats. No idea how many there were I only ever got to the 6th.
I managed to find the keys for two of the trucks. The red (which has already been posted) and the blue. Blue is ] to acc ' for nitro and , and . (or m and /) as left and right respectively.
Damned if I could find the keys for the yellow. I'm tempted to assume its joystick controlled.
Oh yeah, first post :thumbs:

This game is actually made for 3 players. The keys for the yellow truck are located somewhere in the middle of the keyboard, but I don't remember exactly where... I didn't play that game recently, but I remember we used to squeeze our 3 pair of hands on the keyboard of my friend's IBM PS/1 to play that game!
I can't even begin to tell you how many quarters I spent in the arcade version of that game before it came out on PC...

I don't understand. When I download it, it is just a 200 some odd file with no file extension whatsoever. And now it's put a 0kb file of it on my desktop when I tried to delete it that I can't get rid of. Did anyone else get this with this download?

The quotes in the gametitle broke the name of the file, including the ZIP extension. I have taken them out now. Just download again. The undeletable file should be deletable after a reboot at the latest. :)

If you still cant delete it. Use "Unlocker"-Program to delete it. There is also other ways to delete it.

one of my best childhood memories
besides playing it with other kids i found out that it is virtually unbeatable by the time you get to the highest level (we are thinking 60s here)
opponents get a boost when you do and get free nitro all around the race in the end. Just driving skills and some nitro wont be enough by that time... rather dissapointing really. maybe a remake that makes the AI smarter instead of cheat?

I used to play it a ton as a kid. I got pretty far. Don't remember how many far I got, but it was pretty far because I'd play so long that my fingers would start to hurt.

I don't remember how many tracks there are in the game, but I remember that when you complete them all, the game starts over with a new type of car.
How many types of cars there is, I don't know. It is extremely difficult with the new car type, so it's unlikely that I'm ever gonna find out.

i played this on the nintendo... 16bit i think, quite an old one. We had 4 controllers and if i remember there were about 20 different tracks. The problem is that the AI at the later levels has better upgrades than you, unlimited nitro and actually gets a nitro when you use one too. Some matches are, because of this, impossible to win. it becomes "the more corners the better", cause it slows the ai down and it means it will bore into a turn when you use a nitro. all in all, definately a multiplayer game
we found out about the tracks playing with the neighbours and granting eachother wins to prevent anyone dying
