Which version is this game?
Why is not FREE?

Little too new to be abandoned, I guess...
But you should consider buying it, it's good. The music is good there, especially the endboss-music pieces are cool, though little repetative.

It's not new, but it's from 3Drealms, who still sell almost all their old games.

Great game BTW.

Hey, Kosta, the link is not to Terminal Velocity entry, which is here (http://www.abandonia.com/game.php?ID=27&genre=action), but to the Raptor: call of the Shadows.

Terminal Velocity looks the same like something Microsoft has released a long time back, called "Fury 3". Got the demo some time back and boy it's fun...

Yea, I own Fury3 on cd. That game really rocked. :)

Terminal Velocity did indeed rock. But the reviewer makes one mistake. There weren't infinite enemies. Just a helluva lot. I often completely cleared the map out before even *thinking* of hitting the tunnels. It's quite easy when you get the hang of it too.

I LOVE this game. It was the first, actually, Fury3 was after it, and Hellbender(I think) was after that.

bring'em on!!
Admittedly, I played MicroSoft's "Helbender" first, but I liked the older "Terminal Velocity" all the same. They sure don't make games like these any more... , but if you thought "Yager" was an alternative, just look at the (lack of) speed that one's got... booooooo! :tai: Bring'em back on!!! :wall:

Terminal Velocity...

My dad bought this game for me back then, I think I still got the CD somewhere in my stuff. Now I MUST find it and play again.

I find it odd that 3D Realms is charging for the game when a while back, the full version was included on a PC Gamer Classic Games CD for free (well, the cost of the CD edition of the mag) - and I assume they got permission from 3D Realms to include it.

Been done often in the past. This doesn't mean at all that the game is Abandoned, it only mean that you'll get the game for free if you purchase PC Gamer.

It's a mean to boost sale, I guess. And sometimes it works.

Last time I seen this, it was Duke Nukem 3D. :)

Has anybody managed to get this working in Windows XP? I know it works in DosBox, but you have to turn everything down, and I saw the XP compatiblity icon. I have used VDMSound, tried to change CPU usage, it still just sits at the command prompt issuing the "loading sound driver" message. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I love the afterburner!!! :Brain:

I remember the shareware I used to have and soon as you fly into the tunnel of the first level it would end! :ranting: (Thats just cruel)!!!

Heyy admins:
Do you know that the link in the first of this thread - the start, the first in the thread... the link that should link to the summary of the game or a buy-link..... it does not link to termal velocity - it links to the game Raptor.

Just if you wanted to know.

This game is amazing, seriously

Yes, it's old, but it absolutely OWNS many of the crappy games being pumped out today

Pure quality...

Nice game. Nothing new, nothing original but it does well mixing outdoor and indoor areas and it's just pure fun. After all it's just arcade game and not meant to be revolutionary. I just wish there were more games like that. Along with classic Descent series only Extreme Assault comes to mind and that's just sad. I love those simple games, sometimes when you get tired of all those plot twists, stats counting and tactical thinking you just want to play and blast anything that comes into sight without running around at those 3D mazes. This is where Terminal Velocity is good.

This game rocks!!!

Has anyone completed it? In the end they give you a code to upgrade your ship to TV303, but I don't notice any diference

Still lots of fun :D

Wow, this hasn't been touched for a while.

Anyway, two things:

1. The game page no longer has a 'Discuss this game (x posts)' link.

2. I have a real manual and some boxshots for this. I shall upload them to the FTP ASAP. :)

EDIT: Okay...

3. The manual isn't for Terminal Velocity, it's for Transarctica.

4. This game doesn't have an Amiga version. :p

... another one, then. Thanks for pointing this out, unfortunately the addition of document extras is on a fritz right now. :notrust:

4. This game doesn't have an Amiga version. :p
Seems the forum thread ID has moved to the Lemon Amiga ID field somehow. Fixed.

Since when do you do boxshots in that pixel dimensions?

AlumiuN
21-11-2008, 08:34 AM
Well, they're not 'boxshots' as such, they're the manual, the jewelcase cover and the CD.

I get a crash on that lava planet (i think stage 3 or 4) that prevents me to continue the game. is there a known bug?

the jewelcase cover and the CD

Finding of the day: CD cases are smaller than game boxes.

I got the game recently but have found that when I go to open the game through dos box it opens in a small window that I can't expand, does anyone know about this or what i can do about it? Also when i use my joystick in the game it has begun to veer off the left constantly making it hard to fly in a straight direction, can anyone help me with these issues?
