i need the file WING32.dll for the game allied general, if someone could send that to me, it would greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's missing from his version of the game.

Actually, sounds more like he is trying to run a DOS game in Windows.

actually i tried running it in windows an it says:
"AG.exe unable to locate component - this application has failed to start because WING32.dll was not found."
i dont have that file, am i meant to?
when i try running it dosbox it says i cant runt this game in dos. oh BTW i have XP so no normal dos.

If I knew how to attach files I would but I don't. Email me if you still want the files. Just remember to copy them in both system32 and system folders of Windows.
BTW, try to change your desktop resolution to 256 colours. Then try the game. It might work IIRC.

just searched it on google and got the file. Also Xp doesnt support 256 colours in the normal display setting, but i got it working. Im missing the movie files for it tho.

Xp doesnt support 256 colours in the normal display setting
Right-click the file--->Properties--->Compatibility. Doesn't support, you say? LOL

yeah the NORMAL display setting doesnt i.e right clicking the desktop background properties etc.
on another note im missing another singular file, for Railroad Tycoon 1 i need the VGraphic file. didnt bother making an entirely new thread

Actualy there have been known games that while they work with switched the desktop resolution to 256, they don't when done only through the compatibility settings, weird I know. :blink:

yup that is a windows game , DOS games don't call on DLL libraries.

Windows asking for .DLL files is quite common, saying it might be a copied game is kind of ankward if you ask me... :blink:
