I mentioned this before, but I'll mention it again. I'm mainly posting this topic because I'm willing to help anyone with problems they may have run into with games(not technical stuff, just hints and stuff). So if anyone is having trouble, just post and I'll do my best to help you, and I'm sorry if I can't. Hope that helps,
-Sean

Okay, I'm playing the Legend of Kyrandia now and I'm at the part where I have to put the gems on the altar in order of seasons. Which gems to I put in the altar and in what order?

Here you are:
Now go north a few screens until you see a bird nest with a bird on it.
Click on the yellow stone on your amulet.
Pick up the quill.
Go back to the hut and give the quill to Darm.* In return, he will give
you a magical scroll.* You can try this scroll out if you wish.
Once you have the scroll, Darm will tell you about the birthstones.* The
first birthstone you seek is at the fountain in the river.
Go to the river and click at the bottom of it.* Voila, a SUNSTONE.
During your exploration around this forest, you should have found
quite a few gems and jewels.* (i.e. Onyx, Topaz, Opal)
Anyhow, the other three birthstones you need are in order:
* * * * (SUNSTONE) GARNET, TOPAZ, and RUBY.
To get rubies, grab a few from the ruby tree.* Use the yellow stone on
your amulet after you've gotten your rubies.
Once you have all the right stones and have placed them in order, you
will get a flute.
Have fun further in the game. :D
Btw., sorry to take over your work, xndr2181... :P Next turn is yours. http://forum.giga.de/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

Freddy is spot on in everything he's said (He and I are the resident Kyrandia experts :) Just one thing tho, every time you play the game, the order of some of the gemstones change. The sunstone is always first, and the ruby is always last. However, the gemstones in between can be anything.

(Just glad I didn't have to write this in German)

Thanks a ton. I was just dumping stones in there and hoping they were the right ones =P

Well, actually the stones were always in this same order every time I played the game...

wendymaree

Really? That's strange... Do you usually play after a new install? Perhaps the first time around, the order is always the same. I always keep the game on the hard drive and played it many times, and each time the middle two or three gemstones change.

TheVoid

Well, I played the Kyrandia Marathon (Book 1, Hand of Fate, Malcolm's Revenge) only once, so I cannot help about gemstones-besides wendymaree and freefreddy just did that.

I really liked the Kyrandia series, the only flaw is that you die so often...it becomes frustrating after some time.

FreeFreddy
30-08-2004, 10:03 AM
It's not that often, after all, and even perhaps only in Kyrandia 1 it's more often - in Hand of Fate this happens only on some few locations. If you saved your game, you always can load it again and avoid the death.
Btw., wendymaree - that's it, I always installed it anew from the CD in order to play, so you will be right there. The two middle stones will change in order in every new game, as long the game is kept on the harddrive.
But anyway we're now off topic here, so let's wait for further needs in help instead. http://forum.giga.de/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

Tom Henrik

Yeah death comes seldom in Hand of Fate. I mean you can tickle a crocodile, and even place your hand in its mouth. It's only when you keep doing it over and over again, that you will die.

TheVoid

Yes.
And a Nice feature for me is the swamp monster near Zanthia's house.....
try teasing him in Kyrandia 1 and then in Kyrandia 2... :P ...it seems Sierra understood she should put a brake on the dying side .

Sorry it took my so long to respond, but I've had some trouble with the forum site. Anyway, it is true, the combination of stones does differ each game, you're best bet in general is to collect all the different kinds of gems, then save the game. If a stone gets fired, just restore your save game. It's cheap but it works. Also, I'd perfer it if we tried to move all talking off this post, no offense, but since it's posted as a simple q and a type thing, it sidetracks from the real point. Hope that all makes sense, :D

U have to magnatize a horse shoe by putting it in the electric current where they grind up the wheat. You'll know you've done it because it will turn into a red magnet. Next you have to put the horse shoe down near the nutshell farthest to the left of the computer screen. It will take a few times to get it down right, so save often. Hope that helps,

I suggest (just off the top off my head):

The Flight of the Amazon Queen
Blue Force
Malcolms Revenge

Swarna, you'll love the Kyrandia series. There are three onsite: Kyrandia, The Hand of Fate and as Sabatianos mentioned, the third one, Malcolm's Revenge.

Just finished Beneath a Steel Sky last night (well, all in one night). I enjoyed playing it, as I'm a fan of both Adventure and Cyberpunk games, but overall it seemed a bit boring and didn't have a very interesting story. I did keep in mind that the game is a decade old (so it deservers due credit for the time in which it was published), but overall I failed to see what the hype is. Also the LINC-space sequences seemed particularly useless, though I could visualize what they were going for at the time. I suppose it's just nostalgia, as seems to be the case with many childhood games that I have revisited.

Good, but not that great. Anyone care to share their thoughts on the game?

Try getting a walkthrough for Shadows of Mordor. It's a text based adventure.

Trust me, we have the only working walkthrough right here on Abandonia (unless someone stole it).

I was looking for a walkthrough for 2 days and then decided to write one up myself.

Bluestreakv, I only played the CD version of DOTT which skips the copy protection, but if you do a Google search, you can find the codes for building the batteries on a couple of message boards. I won't give you any links, though, because I don't want to be accidentally linking to a warez page or something. There seems to be rather more of those about than I expected , so just do what I did and ignore them.:)

I just dowloaded kyrandia which I loved!! But at the birthstone quest it is not working it took the sunstone ok but it burns up the garnet topaz and ruby no matter what order I place them in what is going on????

Frodo

To Debcat76

Have you got all the stones? You need to look everywhere. There are some in the forest at the beginning of the game (before the bridge), and some in the next forest (after the bridge).

Edit by Frodo - There are a lot more stones than just garnet, topaz and ruby.

Mousazz

there's a bug in rome (i know it's not on abandonia (so that makes it :offtopic: ), but i wanted to tell you). anyway, at level four, where you need to become consul, if gladiator show starts, you pay to centurion and he doesn't vote for you, he runs away and gladiator show stops. poor design if you ask me <_< .

spoiler!
anyway, there's a mistake in the death gate walkthrough. in skurvash (or how that third arianus city was named  ?) then you go to man's house to get that amulet, you need to turn clock to this: winetime, toiltime, darktime. and look at poetry book if you want to find it out for yourself: just repeat the first time of each four line poem.
for example:

the wind

*************
***
*************
**toil***.

***misty***
***morne
***'rise****
****
***mid day**.

that means if first line is second, then first you must turn clock at toiltime (remember, you can turn it three times, there are four poems and then you activate the clock it is turned on one of times). if second is, for example fourth, then forth must be turned at mistymorne, cause it is the first time of poem.

note: these are all examples. how you need to turn that depends on what's the lines. also, please note that the exact sequence is told above.

sorry about the lenght and some wrong words. i'm from lithuania, 10 years old and i still forget some words. however, i was happy to help :brain: . well :thanx: for everything

Mousazz, this thread was dead and rotting for last two years. Why, the stench alone should have been enough of a reason not to dig it up.

Seriously, don't necropost. That's just plain bad manners.
