Panzer General 2 WAS sold by CD Access (http://www.cdaccess.com/html/quick/panzgen2po.htm) but it is no longer sold. So I believe it is not abandoned?

Razor2

Put up allied general here, an dont tell me to get it from the-underdogs.org .. or ill go clinically insane on you. The security code thing isnt refreshing besides i never liked hotu that much, i mean the range is spectacular just the code thing rarely works

You can go clinically insane - the game is ESA-protected. We had enough trouble with ESA recently, and we will not risk having them shut down our site. IF you really don't want to use HOTU, then wait for about 6-9 months until Abandonia's representatives can ask ESA to return the permissions again.

I guess you won't have that much patience, so let me try to help you with your little HOTU problem.

Have you tried clicking on the little button labeled "refresh"? It's in your browser toolbar.
The security code might not be refreshing because your refresh setting are wrong. Go to Tools-->Internet Options-->General tab-->Temporary Internet Files-->Settings. There is an option "Check for newer versions of visited pages...". Select "On every visit".
If that didn't work, Tools-->Internet Options-->General tab-->Temporary Internet Files-->Delete Files. This will however also clean up all of your cookie files.

first of all im aware of esa an what happened due to esa. i just assumed since hotu had it, it was okay since thats the biggest abware site on the net!

anyway, im not as stupid as you think, i tried all the methods you suggested prior to you saying them an they didnt do muck, except ever since i deleted cookies im now unable to log in to any sites for some reason, now i have to post in forums on my brothers computer.

The first Panzer General is still sold and we have the review on site, the second one called Panzer General 2 (Aka Allied General) is Abandonware! :ok:

Well, unfortunatly this topic is old...I hope you'll read it and contribute uploading the game.

I have this game and was wondering if I should upload it.

Pros: Great sequel to a great game abandonia already hosts (panzer general);
available on HOTU so probably abandonware

Cons: WIN95 game; does not work w/o cd, I could probably find a nocd patch somewhere

The main issue is that it's a WIN95 game and abandonia is 'dedicated to classic dosgames!'

Once upon a time it was decided to go for all IBM PC games. The slogan is bewildering, I know.

does not work w/o cd

Let's see what I can do.

guys, what are you talking about? Panzer General II and Allied General are NOT the same game.

Allied General was built on top of the old Panzer General 1 engine, with not much gameplay changes, just sort of as a campaign and scenario pack for the allied commander, albeit much harder. It was released in 1995.
AG screenshot (http://www.gamershell.com/screenpop.php?id=64735)

Panzer General II was an entirely new game, based on a new graphics engine, with beautiful hand-drawn backgrounds and some new improvements in the game mechanics. It was released in 1997.
PGII screenshot (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/panzer-general-ii/screenshots/gameShotId,10877/)

so you cannot say Panzer General II (aka Allied General) - two different games.

the alternative titles list says "Panzer General II" -- German Title
so i suspect Allied General could have been called Panzer General II for some time, but only in Germany and only until the real Panzer General II game was released two years later. any way here's (http://www.flickr.com/photos/39610139@N02/3723002407/) the correct Allied General cover i have on my PC

Yes we know about all this stuff. It was just an international mistake. Changed thread title.
