You must be logged into Windows as a user without full administrative access - you'll need to log in to an admin account to instal, but should be able to run it from your account after. If you don't know what account has admin ability, try to log in as Administrator without a password.

I don't have such problems, since my own user account on my PC has full administrative privileges from the beginning. :D

There _must_ be an admin account, if not then you have done something wrong when installing Windows. And if so then you'll have to re-install.

To gain administration privilages you don't have to reinstall windows. All you need to know is your admin password.

You can't get administrator priviledge for Win98/95 since it simply doesn't exist.

WinME is like bugged Win98. No administration in there, as far as I can remember.

I'm having the same problem. So is it completely unusable with Win98?

Darn, and here I thought I was finally going to get to play these games with sound... :(

You should be able to set up your sound card to work properly in Win98 for DOS games. Also you should be able to make it work with DOS-Mode shortcuts. (There is a topic on this in one of the sections, where I explained how to properly set up Win98 to play old DOS games)

Look at the quoted guide in the second post.
