Dosbox is a program that helps you run old Dos games, such as gobliins or anyother game in this site, :D . You can download Dosbox from this site as well, by using it to run Gobliiins you shouldn't run into any errors. If you need help using Dosbox check out Data's signature on any of his posts, he has a link to a help book. Goodluck!

Have you set the IRQ for SB to 7?
DOSbox uses 7 as its default ;)

Kym
08-09-2004, 04:45 PM
Is that something you have to do through the actual
Sound card files on your system or is that possible through editing the Goblins files themselves as i use D-Fend with DOS BOX and its set on IRQ 7 and still there is no sound being made. Also during the start up of Goblins itself there is no ability to actually edit the IRQ.

Also is there any word pad files which have the Code Book as i cannot pass that aswel.

I need the code book too!!!
I've tried all .exe and .bat files and every wants the color code!!!

I've found a table at the net. I could send it to you. But I think the better way is to send it to one of the admins here. They can put it into the zip.

I've found the Passcode in another gobliiins.zip file. I post it here, so everyone can get it, or an admin can put it into their zip-file.

www.gamefaqs.com

this is the best site ever for finding walkthrough and codes etc.

It has almost every game for console pc or arcade.

The faqs are written by gamers like you and me who have played the game many times so they are very detailed.

If you ever have a problem in any game check this site out.

Um Is there even a reason there is a color code in the game? I bought the game when it came out way back when it was in floppy disks and it NEVER had a color code. Was this put out in later boxes? Im confused. OMG :eeeeeh:

Or did somone have a copy when it first came out or something. Or was this int he CD box set?

By the way hi, Cat here, I was raised on Sierra games, went trhough highschool playing them. Some kids were playing Super Mario Brothers I was playing Kings Quest, Lesure Suite Larry, and Space Quest games, there the reason I know how to use a computer today.

Uuuh back then they didnt monitor what you did at work >.> and my dad brought alot of computer games home. Alot of them he got form work. I wont say from where. This was the early 90s. We were still useing BBS for email...ahhh memories. :D

But I digress.

I love everything Coktel came out with. To bad they never came out with anythign after Woodruf and the Schibble.

edit:

By the way, does this version of the game even have the music in it? Cus I know some emulations of consol games dont have music. If there is music. How do I turn it on. Its been so long sicne I played it.

Use to play this for hours on the amiga and that too had a colour code. Problem was I am a little colour blind and had to get someone to make a list using letters in place of the colours. LOL. Still it's a good game and there are some very sneaky puzzles in there. If your stuck, try doing the same action a few times and remember to glide the mouse all over the screen because you may have missed a mouse zone. :help:

Ah, the ever-so infamous/odd/frustrating/unique/bizarre/hilarious Gobliiins. Though I prefer the later two games because they don't have the annoying energy bar and thus far less trial-and-error, this one is a brilliant one nonetheless.

According to the review, the game is not compatible with DosBox.
However, the compatibility data in the review date three years back to v0.61, while the latest revision is v0.70. If you tried using an older version, you might want to try v0.70, just in case it might work.

Other than that, you might try running it in plain Windows or using Abandonia Bootdisk (from our programs page (http://www.abandonia.com/main.php?nav=programs)).

Problably It won't fit in here, because it's translated to PL. I can check later other languages because it's multilingual (Polish/Hungarian/Czech). Maybe other languages have the original trilogy NOT translated.

These are enchanced editions with speech, not the Goblininsh mumble. The third game also have improved cinematics.

Just downloaded this game (I still remember it from my childhood). It doesn't work in XP or DOSBox, but it works with ScummVM. My problem is this: On the first level, when I pick up the pickaxe, nothing happens. All the walkthroughs just say "pick up the pickaxe and advance to the next screen." I see no way to do this. What am I missing ? Any help ?

A yellow "Go" sign appears when you pick up the pickaxe. Maybe you have a corrupted archive? Tried re-downloading?

BTW, the game runs fine in DOSBox.

Thanks a bundle ! At first I just thought I was being lame .. but it turns out there was something wrong with the download. I reDL'd it and it works fine now (in DOSBox), yellow "GO" box and everything. Except I now have to go through this colour test, which wasn't there the first time .. -__- ... Do I have to do that every time I load the game ?

As the game is not cracked - yes - it is necessary every time you start.

It's a DRM from DOS era :)

The CD-ROM release doesn't have this copyprotection (instead it checks for the CD). It's available in the ISO cellar.

After loading is complete (flirt lib 'bc31rtd' is applied automatically)
find xrefs to '_ftime' (There are 4 refs in the same function + 1 in some other)
just pick the first to land at the begin of the problem hot spot.

PCSpeakerDelay =(TimeDiff * 59659) / (Int8sysTimerCount * 50)

if Int8sysTimerCount gets 0 you'll get a division by 0 error.

APP 1.2 The Delay Patch
-----------------------

seg038:17F3 8B 46 DC mov ax, [bp+BTimeDiff_H]
seg038:17F6 8B 56 DA mov dx, [bp+BTimeDiff_L]
seg038:17F9 2B 56 DE sub dx, [bp+TimeDiff_L]
seg038:17FC 1B 46 E0 sbb ax, [bp+TimeDiff_H]
seg038:17FF 50 push ax
seg038:1800 52 push dx
seg038:1801 33 C0 xor ax, ax
seg038:1803 BA 50 C3 mov dx, 50000
seg038:1806 50 push ax
seg038:1807 52 push dx
seg038:1808 9A 3B 2E 00 10 call LDIV@ ; = 50000 / TimeDiff
seg038:180D A3 B8 2C mov BTimeDiff_50000, ax

That will bring you there in debug.com:
g 341E:180d
^^^^- adjust the segment offset to yours.

So and this was my first patch try

seg038:17F3 B8FFFF MOV AX,FFFF
seg038:17F6 EB15 JMP 180D
...
seg038:180D A3 B8 2C mov BTimeDiff_50000, ax

However 0000:ffff is not enough to slow it down.
The new version directly modify the 32 bit part
So insteat of XXXXffff it now 0400XXXX:

seg038:0FC3 8B 76 06 mov si, [bp+arg_0]

Have a question, I mean catching a magician in a bag at the end of the game freezes. Neither your final movie, nothing. Can I have a pirated version (was)?
Best Regards.:OK:

No. Ask at GOG forums for tech support - if they sold you a faulty game, they should find a way to fix it.

Fifth, I think again you are not completely understood. I'll try more: in the mid-90's games in the series sold at probably pirated compilations such as Best Multimedia Club. And the disk from the time I have not been preserved.:suspicious:

The answer is still "No".

If it's sold, then nobody here will provide you with a link to and illegal download or with advice how to find one.

Please do not request games which are still being sold or are protected.

You guys once again did not understand, I did not ask you for the game. And do not ask for advice. And the game I had already passed himself (then on our vast on the Internet have not heard). I just need to know what it zakanchivaetsya. That is, there is the final movie or not. And if so, was grateful to find out what.:OK:

Eugene425, looking at your language, it was quite obvious that you were blatantly requesting a link to somewhere where you could download this game for free and this is against the rules. Please refrain from doing this in future.

Are you asking for a saved game file, Eugene?

Not really, the game is too old, that would cause a genuine interest. I have it all gone, but in the end did not see the final movie. Q: Is the game the final movie or not. If yes, then what?
What a game end? Example: If you take any, even a dandy game, but in the end show a happy ending. In this game it no (in any case, I have not found). So, it is there or not.

No, there generally can not be maintained, that there is a special password system. I need only see the end game.

I uploaded level codes for this game, but I do not know how to record the video with SCUMM... Fraps does not work with it, and I cannot run this game in DOSBox.

I was too slow with the video, or too lazy to check other software, or both ...

Nice job Kippesoap :) I believe Eugene will be happy!

Hi.
Level codes contains wrong code for lvl 17. It should be: IQDNKQO instead of IQDNJQO.
