Well .. I am 33 years old so I would have to say my favourite games are from the Sierra Company. I have ALL of the original games that I personally purchased all those years ago. I have original boxes, disks/cd's of EVERY sierra adventure game made. I have had several people offer me hundreds of dollars for my collection but I will never sell.

I would have to say that my favourite games of all time were the Space Quest series. Funny as hell and challenging, I spent hours playing these games. If anyone has any questions about any Sierra game .. just post here and I'll answer to the best of my ability.

The problem in qfg4 is something I ran into too, I think it just needs a patch. As for the problem with the first quest for glory the best advice I can give you is that you just need to make sure you follow all the steps as methodically as you can. I remember that part being verrrry frustrating, but like I said, it can be done without a patch. I hope that helps? Also I'd like to simply post as well that if anyone needs help with pretty much any of the sierra or kyrandia, or the lucasarts games I can help in most of them!!

Don't know why, but I've always had the idea that the Kings Quest games and the Gabriel Knight games were the most popular of the Sierra collections.

Personally I think the GK games are the best games ever produced by any company - (no doubt someone will shoot me down in flames for saying that! )

Looks as though I'll have to try the Quest for Glory series one of these days too, are they actually true adventure games?

Quest for Glory games are adventure games, but with a good dose of action (fighting) in it. This also means that you are free from the trademark sierra deaths (you walked into the dark room without a light and fell into a hole, you die), however your skill in fighting/magic will determine if you die, or not.

Yeah, QFG uses more of a roleplaying aspect to the sierra games. It's too bad they didn't utilize the same system later on, oh well...

I agree with you. I loved the KQ and GK series.

KQ5 and KQ6 (CD versions!) were 2 of my all time favs..I loved em and to have voices at that time was awesome.

GK was very good as well...even loved GK3 Beast within..shame that was right aobut the time the Adventure games began to die.

Also, Freddy Pharkas (which was just added to the site) was one of my favs..that game was hilarious..kinda like a Space Quest, without the space...

Which reminds me..I loved the Space Quest series as well =D

*cries* I miss the old Sierra.

I dunno, I have better memories of the ooolllllddd Sierra games, the 1sts, 2nds and 3rds in the series. SQ1, 2, 3, KQ1, 2, 3, 4, PQ1, 2, 3. I suppose it just that I remember those from my early childhood, so they hold more nostalgic value

Pq3 isn't that old.

My favorites are SQ5, KQ6 and GK1.

I like the Leisure Suit Larry games (all of them and basically ANY game made by Al Lowe :))

Not a big adventure fan myself but I do like the remake of Quest for Glory and Gabriel Knight 2. I tried several other adventures from Sierra but never got into it. Strategy games are my thing.

:ok: There just wasn't beating Sierra when these games were popular amongst everyone. They had the right idead. I'm just glad I found good website with these games to download. Talk about re-living some of my REALLY young years with these games!! I highly recommend The Kings Quest series and Space Quest. Leisure Suite Larry is awesome too ^_^ Glad theres a way to skip those crappy questions, you'd have to be REALLY old... :max:

Ah, this QFG4 problem is common and dreaded, and it happens with any class. I think the best solution is to use DOSBox. (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net) It happens because your computer is too fast. Same as with the QFG1 problem.

With the D-Fend (http://members.home.nl/mabus/dfend.htm) frontend for DOSBox, setting up games comes down to a simple, easy to use wizard menu. Use it. If you really want to play DOS games, it's the best solution.
