Tie Fighter is NOT abandonware. It's still sold. For example at CD Access (http://www.cdaccess.com/) or Chips'n'Bits (http://www.chipsbits.com/). Go ahead an buy it, it's not that expensive.:)
And what kind of programs are you talking about?
p2p programs..

1 EURO = 4 PESOS
So, it's hard for someone like me (unemployed) to get 40 pesos :Tom: . I will try the p2p program then. Thanks

'I weep for you', the walrus said, 'I deeply sympathise'...
Anyway: what you're planning to do is a blatant breach of copyright laws. I can't stop you from doing it anyway, but you should be aware that warez-talk is against the forum rules. If you plan on staying around, that is.

Ah, sorry then, i didn't know that talking about warez was not allowed :ok:, it's very common here in argentina to buy illegal stuff, because imported programs and games are very, very, very expensive

Fair enough, then. I just wanted to warn you lest ye get banned.:)
Buying something is some countries can cost more than ten times what they do here compared to what a person earns. Let's make an example. A western country merchandise will have the same price in the third world as they do *here* and considering what they earn it's no wonder illegal merchandise gets around like they do there.
It would be like buying a new game here in europe for €450 instead of maybe €45.
I don't think some of those countries even has copyright laws (Malaysia?)...
earnings in poland aren't very large... 45 euro is a very very big price... :(

Just read recently in places like Argentina or Spain the software piracy rate is something like 97%.....
here's are the links to the article: http://worldofstuart.excellentcontent.com/...one/piracy1.htm (http://worldofstuart.excellentcontent.com/world/pczone/piracy1.htm)

Keep your eyes fixed on Allegro.pl, then. I've seen it there a couple of times for much less money.

I've never seen people buying original software... You can buy ps2 games (dvd) for 5 or 6 dollars, and you can buy pc games for only 1 or 2 u$s.. But, original software costs 40 dollars, so, there's the difference.

Well, true like that, in some countries the prices are high compared to the average salary, but on the other side, paying for the game prevents you from getting into BIG trouble. Ie, when you are using warez then if authorities get the smell they will probably confiscate your hardware as whole. An they usually aint returning anything.
Consider how much cash you'll need to buy a new one.
Think price of the legal game vs price of new hardware. :tai:

The thing is that the authorities in under-developed countries will not bother with such an issue, because:
1)The phenomena is so widespread that it would take a costly, and huge in any aspects, compaign to reduce(but not stop) the warez "business"
2)The authorities have better things to do than punish little kids using illegal software.
EDIT moved to favorite oldies
