Does anyone know where to download manuals for DOS games that aren't listed on the download page? Does anyone know where to get the Cool Spot game manual. You need this for access to the game due to copyright protection..

Thanks... tomato.gif

Not Surprisingly, the SNES :w00t: version of this is the best one.

Ah, I remember this one - didn't like it at all actually, found the whole setting very little appealing to me.

suprising how a game with 5 posts wins.

I guess it just works perfectly w/o any bugs, making it an even better download! :D

This game is okay but not great. 4 is too much I think - 3 is more accurate. There's far better games on Abandonia that got a lower score.

That's why 'Overlooked Gem' is the right name for this game!

www.replacementdocs.com is a good place to find game manuals, all of the files are in .pdf format (Which is Adobe Acrobat Reader). Unfortunatly there is no manual for Cool Spot on there.

hey guys, hope i am not late, i've just downloaded the game from here, here is the way to play it on windows xp.. u've gotta open the file called "setsnd" or "setsend.exe" if you don't hide extentions.. run it and then press "1" then "Esc" like that you will cancel the sound, but better than nothing don't you think? open the "spot" file and tadaaaaaaah it works :D enjoy,

If there was, we would've linked to it. We're affiliated with them, you know ;)

good game but Cool Spot 2 (spot goes to hollywood) is much better. It uses isometric graphics and looks like 3D.

Just thought I'd mention this in case anyone was confused: you don't need the manual, just type any letters and hit enter.

The game-file will be an executable file, so an .exe, .bat or .com-file.
I remember playing Coolspot in the old days on my DOS-machine and if I remember correctly the executable is coolspot.exe (it's eight characters plus extension so it could be right).

When you are in Windows you can use the view 'deatiled' and group the files by file type. It's easier to look up the correct file then.

Have fun! :ok:

Do we have the Cool Spot title theme? When Cool Spot rides the 7UP bottle. That was a kinda cool surfing tune.... De-de-de-dedede-dede.... :brain: ^_^

Pretty COOL game!
I would give it 3.5, it doesn't have many enemies and that lowered the mark, I always loved Spot, one of COOLEST video game characters! :amused:
Sega Mega Drive II version is better than the DOS one! :noworry:

Maybe it's just my imagination, but in this version, Spot seems to gain momentum much faster than in either of the console versions, which makes the gameplay a lot smoother, in my opinion. The sound is crappier, though, and the graphics seem to be identical to the Genesis version.

It's a decent platformer either way.
