The easiest solution will probably be to try running it in ScummVM (http://www.scummvm.org/downloads.php).

"Christ, thank *meep* that I found this site".

Those were the thoughts running through my mind when I first stumbled into abandonia.com. It seemed as though I had finally found a place to download my old favourite adventure games. When I was eight years old my brother got hold of Fate of Atlantis for his Amiga 1200, and we secretly stayed up night after night playing it. In the labyrinth of Crete, where you have to align the stones, took us about 5 hours to do, since none of us spoke English well enough to understande the clues in the lost Dialogue. The feeling I had of genuine sorrow when Indy ran through the apocalypse of atlantis, having been unable to free Sophia from the powers of the demonic Nur-Ab-Sal, has been matched by no other game so far.

Alas, I see now that Last Crusade and Fate of Atlantis are no longer available here. Therefore, I call upon someone, to PLEASE PLEASE send me an e-mail with them, to (don't post emails plz)

In fervent plea
-Elina K

Savegames aren't compatible, I'm afraid. But it will probably run better in ScummVM, so it's worth starting over - unless you were right at the point of picking up the grail, in which case that would suck, obviously...

@Elina: Sorry, but that's not possible. The games are protected, which is why the download for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade had to be removed. If it makes you feel any better, Fate of Atlantis was never available for download here to begin with.:)
If you want to play the games again, I'd suggest having a look around ebay or similar places for a used copy. Those games were extremely popular, so there's loads of copies around, and if you wait for a bit, it shouldn't take too long to find one at a good price if you're not too fussy about what condition the box is in.

This question has been asked ten thousand times before. The answer is always the same:
Use DosBox (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net). Or VDMSound. Whichever works better on your system.
You can get them from our programs page (http://www.abandonia.com/main.php?nav=programs).
Before you start complaining about being unable to use them, read the godforsaken readme files and appropriate FAQ's in Troubleshooting (http://www.abandonia.com/forum/index.php?showforum=2) and Troubleshooting Archive (http://www.abandonia.com/forum/index.php?showforum=25) forums.

Btw I think this game is better than the fate of atlantis? Anyone agrees?

Even though atlantis has better graphics and sound, it seems there are more fun and challenges in the last crusade.

I first played atlantis when I was 8 and first played last crusade last year. Atlantis brought me loads of memories but I do think last crusade is a better game.

I think las crusade is more logical...

I found some riddles in Fate of Atlantis very confusing and random.

And Last Crusade came with its own Grail Diary with its documentation which was pretty damn cool ;)

Although I do remember having big problems deciphering the cursive handwriting in it when I was a little one.

Just for fun, has anyone ever beaten the ticket taker on the Zeppelin in a fight? If you make it through the castle w/out using the first aid kit you can fight him with full health, which I did and saved just before. It took dozens of tries, but I finally knocked him out and got a free ride on the Zep!

I don't suppose it's possible to beat a sober Biff the Nazi--I'd be amazed.

You could try Scummvm instead of DOSBox. Scummvm allows you to play most LucasArts point'n'click adventure games as well as some non-LA games on modern systems. It is very easy to set up and use. You can find Scummvm via our main page. If you need help, feel free to ask, but I'm pretty sure you will figure it out :)

Not so good, this one.
Even when it first came out I thought the puzzles were dull and the dialogue a lousy extended/embriefened parody of the classy chat in the film.
Sadly, I still feel the same.

Well, I have to admit that Fate of Atlantis is brilliant, but saying this game is not good...

I found it very entertaining, well done, technically advanced to his time and with nice dialogues. Again, the films where great, so maybe it isn't fair to compare. I mean, how could you even try to compare a small sprite with Sean Connery?

Acctually you did see the map, but it only looks like some weird canall system. You won't really need a map to get through though (the maze is really simple). So if you don't get to the knight's tomb you have missed something else, that isn't placed on the map anyway (there should be man ywalkthroughs on-line).

And about freezing... F5 calls up the save/load menu, space pauses the game (and it GIVES A CLEAR MASSAGE IT IS PAUSED), so if the game froze you have compatibility issues (not sure if it's the same guesst).

I saw in previous threads that some posters were able to send the game over through PM messages. Is this still possible? I would be extremly grateful if someone could do that. I loved this game as a kid. I never was able to finish the game, and having a chance to play it again would be the greatest thing ever.

I would purchase them, but all I can seem to find our people selling the old floppy disks, which my computer does not support. Are there cd roms of this game for sale that I am not aware of? If so, could someone point me in the right direction.

Thank you very much

A rule of thumb, sending games over PM is a big NO-NO (and the watchdogs are watching, in case you wondered), so is asking for games to be sent through PMs.
Other than that: If you mean Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, it is available here

Guys, the answers are in the Grail Diary. You have to READ it. The only other thing that comes with the game is the walkthrough, which doesn't cover copy protection.
[/b]

hi i checked the grail diary. read the whole thing. also read all 4 pages of the manual. no "translation tables" for the beginning of the game. it'll only let me play the demo verision.

do you have the 4 tables lying around somewhere possibly? i know they originaly came with the maual, but you didn't upload them with the manual or the grail diary.

i can't find them on the web anywhere, although the door codes for maniac mansion are supplied on certain sites. the original shareware version didn't have any "translation tables"...i'm a bit frustrated, cause i can't find those damn greek letter codes anywhere!

Don't be a fool and start flaming people just because they remembered the name of a game they played years ago wrong.

Fond memories of wonderful sound and graphics are usually best left as memories... confronting them with the reality can often be disappointing.

Besides, the truths about "better" and "worse" are always relative. So for that person, some years back, this game may have actually been the best adventure game ever.

i just want to say that i've played this game about a dozen times, seen the movie 2 or 3 times, and i had it when it was actually a new game, and it still doesn't get old. this is why i love abandonia.

does anyone know if the game ends if you stay on the zepplin while it turns around? i would do it myself but....well, i just let it get back to Berlin and got killed. so much for that.

one thing i don't like about the game is i wish there was more than one way to talk your way out of an encounter. it's not a problem when you look up a FAQ, but it seems like a lot of the situations would have more than one way to be talked through.

Why on Earth would you need other people's save games? I'd understand with Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machines, you need a save game beyond a certain point, because of a bug in the game (that won't let you leave a platform), but here? Why???

Hello guys

Just wanted to say that it was a rejuvenating blast from the past to be able to play indiana jones again. It brought back good memories of me, my family and the odd classmate pondering over how to solve the puzzles and enjoy slapping Hitler in the face at least once.

Sorry, but it isn't.
LucasArts are pretty good at protecting their games.

English review still mentions that the game is abandonware, which is no longer the case. Can someone update the review (or do I have the privileges to do so). I did take this fact into account while translating the review to French...

I see nothing wrong with dropping the abandonware word from the review, it isn't needed in the sentence. If someone disagrees I can add it back in but for now I will just remove it.
