The games are some of the best adventures, there are however 2 problems with them:

1. Monkey Island 3 is not abandonware, I'm not sure for the other 3, but there is a high chance that they are being sold too. If someone would put them on the site, Abandonia would be shut down very soon.

2. Even if they would be anbandonware, all of them are too big. SQ6 is almost 1 CD, Monkey Island is on 2 CDs and the other 2 can't be much smaller.

Anything written by Razor2 is correct. They all must be still sold yet, and their size makes it impossible for our site to handle them somehow, if the fact they are still sold should be not enough already. For Kings Quest 7 I can say - it is around 200-300 MB large, 'cause I have it on one of the CD's from a games magazine. I guess part 8 would be therefore not smaller... http://forum.giga.de/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif

I am sorry, but since the games are still sold we cannot distribute them. You will have to buy them.

TheVoid

And I suggest you do it....they're really worth the 5-10 Euros or $ they cost now. :ok:

And they probably have that new package and nice thick detailed manual booklet inside... http://forum.giga.de/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I played the demo for it once a long time ago. It was really awesome, and the demo was really huge. Never managed to get my hands on the full game though :(

I still have that demo disc floating around somewhere.....

G'day

I've got quite a few games that I would like to contribute to Abandonia but I don't know how.

List of Games:

Kings Quest 7
Kings Quest 6
Kings Quest 1
Kings Quest 2
Kings Quest 3
Conquests of Camelot
Les Manley in Search for the King
Leisure Suit Larry Collection (1-6)
Quest for Glory Anthollogy (1-4)

I also have documentation for Codename Iceman, Les Manly, Larry, Quest for Glory, Monkey Island and Conquest of Camelot.

I also have a few other games but they have 5.2" (correct size?) floppies. :not_ok:

Sorry to say that, but all of these games, except for Les Manley, are from Sierra and thus ESA-Protected.

And Les Manley is already on the site.

Buger, though I still have plenty of manuals and box scans If you need them :ok:

EDIT:

I also have Gabriel Knight 1 and 3, are they ESA protected?

Afaik they're from Sierra, too, so they're protected. Every game from a protected company is a "no go" sadly :/

I dunno about the Boxscans and manuals, but I'm sure one of the admins can help you there :)

You should check the OldWarez List (http://www.abandonia.com/main.php?nav=awlist) before asking.

I checked the Owlwarez list and I have:

Codename Iceman - Sierra (Has 5.2" floppies)

Fields of Fire - Empire Interactive

Conquests of Camelot - Sierra

Every game from a protected company is a "no go" sadly :/
^
Even If they're actualy abandonware?

And I've got box scans of:

The Secret of Monkey Island
Les Manly
Leisure Suit Larry 3
Conquests of Camelot
Codename Iceman
Kings Quest 1,2 and 3
Space Quest 5

And plenty of extra manuals, letters and copy protection stuff.

If they are abandoned, then we need to carefully evaluate the risk. We love old games, and we do want to preserve them - but we have to choose wisely.

Ooooh I love box scans.
Now take a look at that Dart guy. A total newbie to the site and already wants to help!

Abandonware has different description all over the place, but here on this site we follow THESE rules:
1. No-one is selling the game (second-hand auctions doesn't count).
2. No-one is supporting the game.
3. No-one will get mad at us for placing the software up for download.
Sorry, but we have to respect the law, as it is on ESA's side. Otherwise they fire several lawsuits, not to mention shutting down the site. And then... bye bye, Abandonia.
We don't want that to happen.

I read your list of games that cannot have their requests honored. You listed Kings Quest there.

Vivendi just left the ESA.

Kings Quest CAN be distributed freely as abandonware now.

I'm looking forward to it being on here. It is the most classic computer game.

Yes, but ONLY if it cannot be found for sale anywhere.

We were aware about Vivendi's status, but sorry we can't approve it.
It's also sold at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_vg/002-7163213-1464847?url=search-alias%3Dvideogames&field-keywords=king+quest&x=0&y=0) into several packages.

My mistake. Well hopefully someday. I would love to play them again. I could torrent, but I don't want to obtain illegally. And I can't get it feeling right in my head to pay for a collection consisting only of titles that I bought one by one when they were released decades ago.

Some day :(
