I have most of it on deviantart, but I can throw a few on here if you wish. I suppose this constitutes as "My gallery"

Edit: Nevermind, that should do the trick.

The great thing about MSPaint is, besides having a certain "what you see is what you get" quality about it, is the fact that it's installed on almost every computer you encounter, making it the perfect tool for school slackers worldwide.

I may post some more soon enough, but, for the moment, I should finish this assignment. I intend to bring my english mark up above 20% this year. ...that, and it's currently 4:30 am where I reside.

A random quick paint sketch to waste time with, attempted to get a different, spontanious looking style. Came out merely looking odd:

It's an idea... I have a friend who codes, and my band and I could throw a few tunes together for a soundtrack... it's an idea, alright... although I highly doubt I'll have time to work on it in the near future, in light of other projects I've got going on.

An old flyer I designed. Decided I still like it. I remember alot of people and I agreeing: a punk show just isn't a punk show some psychologically inflicting substances. Unfortunatly, no-one wanted to be liable for what might happen to the hall, so they decided to keep all those risque things out.

you're crazy AND talented, indeed! :D

as i've already stated, i totally dig your style - woohaa!!!

i'd be interested in how you did this blue, scary guy with glowing eyes
and the black figure sitting in front of the window?

furthermore, i strongly encourage you to participate in the actual art contest,
i'm sure you'll come up with something impressive :ok:

TheGiantMidgit
21-04-2005, 12:16 AM
The blue figure is just a wooden man that resides in one of the windows of this house. The lighting you get during the winter up here can be really odd.

That black figure is me on Halloween, thus justifying the face paint. Was on my way to a halloween party... Hooray for having insane hair. Note the space invader shirt. Yep, one of the three shirts I own.

As for being crazy, I swear, I only went completely schizo once. ...it was very odd. Psychotic episodes generally are, what with the vivid hallucinations, disattachment to reality and overwhelming terror and paranoia that accompanies them. Fortunatly, it was at a house party, and I managed to really scare everyone there, making what would have been a possibly traumitizing episode into something freaking awesome.

As for the contest, I don't know... I hate the idea of drawing a "hot chick". I'd have to think of a video game heroine I actually respect (besides Samus Aran)

Also, an old piece I did in collaboration with a friend. It's ancient, bordering prehistoric, from when I was learning how to use paint to it's potential. He penciled it, I painted:

apparently you had kind of a very troubled dream, then...

anyway, your latest additions are marvellous, just like the ones before!
don't know if anybody has asked this question yet (though it's a quite obvious one):
do you plan to do a graphic novel, by chance? i mean, your artworks deserves to
be put into a story and maybe get published.

i totally dig dark graphic novels (such as "silent hill", "sandman" or "singularity 7")
so i'm more than convinced that if i find a series of your style in the shelves of a
comic story, i'd buy it without hesitating! :ok:

I used to draw comic books back in elementary school. I got kids to sneak into the teachers lounge and photocopy them. I'd then sell them for 10 cents each, with a piece of the profits going to various helpers. I'd make up to 60 dollars a week. I might have time to start another now, considering I've been suspended from school for the rest of the year. In light of this event, I will most probably have an abundance of free time to work with.

Edit: Look, I made my own little emoticon!

Ruccio Roche from Daraku Tenshi.

Currently unfinished, need to do the legs. Blaugh, I didn't get his face right, he should look "chubbier", and the hoodie is a complete mess, and the chain coming from his collar is off... so is his anatomy as a whole.

Notice that the colours are so darkened when I upload it here to the extent that to view the different hues, you will literally have to zoom into the picture and strain your optical organs:

Personally I like to zoom in to 6x :P

But looking at the pics of TheGiantMidgit I'd say he shifts from working at 8x zoom (his latest sprite) and drawing the outline and lines in 1x for his other drawings then zoom in to 6x for the shading :ok:

Indignus IV
26-06-2005, 01:57 AM
I thought there was a more complicated way.....

I zoom in to 8x and stuff too, but I just don't have the patience to do that. I prefer good old pencil and paper any day (adds a little more creativity, IMO)

My only real paint pic was a half-finished t-shirt design for Abandonia....if anybody is interested I'd be happy to share.

Random halloween picture, a jack-o-lantern I carved, put up now as I'll be gone for most of October:

Blood-Pigggy

The jack o'lantern looks a bit strange.
The random marks all over it kinda throw me off, are they supposed to be wounds or something?

TheGiantMidgit
28-09-2005, 11:21 PM
Who knows? I've never known pumpkins capable of sustaining wounds, so I imagine not. I just like the look.

It's nice and symetrical.
I don't know what, but I just don't really click with it.

It's good, but...
It's unexplainable.

The jack-o-lantern looks brilliant, but I think it might be a good idea for your next one to avoid symmetry so much.

The current art thing going on sorta inspired me to try my hand out at it. Just tried to make something alien looking. ...and yea, I used purple as well. It's easily the most alien looking colour. Quick, quick job, just to try and get a feel for something "alien".

Hahaha, that was genius.
Both pictures are awesome, but I must say, how long ago did you draw that? I can draw about a thousand times better. :sneaky:

Very, very funny.
The paint picture... I can do that myself, it's very simple, except for those dunes in the lower left, I still marvel how you can accomplish that kind of effect.
Beautiful Midget.

TheGiantMidgit
11-11-2005, 07:28 PM
I did it in grade 9 in about 10 minutes between classes, as I was supposed to get it in in the next period. And the picture is supposed to lack detail, to make it easier to photocopy. Also, a thousand times? Are you quite sure? Was that a carefully calculated statment? And, if so, how do you assess the skill in a given piece to such a precise amount? Amazing. Please, give me the mathematical formula sometime.

As for the dune thing, I woulda done it all in that style, but, I'm lazy.

Paint is much better than Photoshop at some things in my opinion, I use both and am quite talented with both. Not the best but I know the basics. When doing signature graphics and what not the layers in photoshop makes stuff easier however the simpicity of paint is its greatest strength. Basic drawings are much easier to make in paint than they are in photoshop. Each piece of software has its own strengths and weaknesses simplying labelling one crap and the other awesome is unjust.

Also, nice job Midget :)

The implications of it boggle the mind. At one point, it describes the neuroscience involved in a biological organism. It's hard to imagine, but scientifical feasible. Same with some forms of organs the author developed. Because a circulatory system would be impossible (a system of tubes in a body would result in that body falling into pieces, think about it) he describes what he calls "zipper organs", muscles that push along fluids as the cells attach and detach in a zipper like fashion. These are just examples, and his description of mechanics in a two dimensional universe are fascintating.

Really sweet man. The only thing that strikes me as quite odd is the reflection of that cloud an the cloud itself, bit too near to the sea surface in my opinion.

I haven't commented here in a long while, but I just reread the entire topic to see what I have missed. And I have missed some extraordinary art-pieces.

You push Paint to it's limit and create a piece of art evertime you make a pixel. It's the image that looks great, but the small things which makes it art. Like the purple jello-mountains which are dripping out of the frame on one, and the whales playing around in the sky in your latest creation. Not to mention your selfportrait. I don't think people realizes how extremelly difficult it is to create a realistically looking face in Paint. Especially in the manner of which you have created yours. The right side (for us) consist of nothing but white and an eye - and pulling that effect of correctly shows extreme craftmanship and affinity with Paint.

I bow to your creations and talent. :kosta:

We're two then :)

Not a clue about the previous drawing, but it looks like DeChirico-inspired stuff. I like it.

Just a pic someone took on one of my trips. ...Yes, I'm the guy with his hand in the air.

Oh goodness. This could so quickly become a photoshot phriday set on SomethingAwful. Heck, if I had time on my own computer I'd so contribute.

Do we have any goons in the house? (I'm not one, but my brother is, so I'm well aquainted with them)

Now that does seem authentic, unlike the other photoshopped one. LOL

So clever, you must be a very smart lad. You found my horrible secret. ....that I am 2 feet tall.

No, the other guy is clearly some kind of giant alien Gulliver from outer space. That encounter must have been a ghastly experience.

Seriously, I don't know if you carefully chose the photo but in it you look like the most daring kick-behind guy. :kosta:

That's the only photo from that trip. And man, you gotta have fun when you're careening down a churning death river in a little inflatable raft. I was in the process of waving to some guys who were hanging around on the bank as we passed by. Turns out they had a camera.
