They may have a bad reputation, but charity shops PWN!

Last Express, boxed with manual, for ?2.00? Yes please!

They also had Toonstruck for ?3.00. I didn't get it because I wasn't sure how easy it'd be to get to run, but since I have to return a faulty copy of Shenmue II to a shop nearby (Well, I say faulty- they put the wrong bloody disc in the case), I may pick it up when I go back.

So, yeah. Last Express. Cheap, and very VERY good.

BTW, apparently The Longest Journey is on the Xplosiv budget range here in the UK- so why does nowhere sell it? I went into 5 shops that carried Xplosiv games today- none of them had TLJ. My Great P&C Adventures collection must be complete!

I got an XPLOSIV TLJ for 49 :- (~ ?3.00 ) at a regular shop last week. :Brain:

I'm going to go hunting for Robin Hood - Legend of Sheerwood and Feeble files when I have the time.

If British charity shops rock, what about Berlin flea markets?

Only recently I got Quake 1 and Hexen, box original boxes with manual and all, near mint condition, both for €1. Now how about that? :Titan:

About 3 weeks ago I managed to pick up a copy of 3 games which included:

Full Throttle
Outlaws
Shotgun Total War

Glad I saw this and that I picked it up.

Where'd you manage to find them?

I actually found an original copy of Ultima 7 at a yard sale, box, manual, even the little map that came with it.

I found that particular pack, at a local rental place, Blockbuster video, they were selling those 3 games for $9.99, good deal. In these packs, the only bummer about it was that they had a $2 buck thing bundled into the pack, for a future purchase, but it was expired

Now if I can just find a copy of Curse of Monkey Island in a bundle like that, I'd be happy.

You can actually still order it, so it's not that hard to find, Lucas Arts is insane cause they still produce very very old products, I got my copy at Amazon.

I'd get it from Lucasarts, but it's like 14.99 U.S plus with shipping, conversiton for me, it might cost be close to $25-30,

Meh if I can't find anything I can prob grab a copy off ebay.

Well, if they can sell them, why shouldn't they keep on producing them?

Because they should be focusing on things that'll make them more money, that's simple.

Producing and selling a few old games doesn't really take away any manpower or ressources that would be badly needed elsewhere. I can see the point of being angry that LucasArts just won't give up on it, but I wouldn't call them "insane", indeed it is a VERY sane thing to do, from their perspective ;)

Nah, it's insane because of George Lucas.

It's fine that they sell those games, gives people a chance to see what they used to make, just make them reasonably priced, is that so much to ask.

Dreadlord

They should make a game that they've already made and re-ship it.

It's good that they sell old games, but it's also weird.

Am I the only one who doesn't actually see much sense in this?

By selling old games, they DO re-ship a game they already made... or did I miss something here?

Dreadlord

No, as in do something completely stupid and take a game they've already made, change the title, and some text, then re-ship it.

DeathDude
31-03-2005, 06:18 PM
I wouldn't mind that they reship the game meaning ship them to retailers, like Walmart, Best Buy, EB, that way I don't have to worry about the hassling of ordering and such, just go to the store pick it up and go home.

Dreadlord

No, as in release a game they've already made, or something like that.

You know what I just realized I was making no sense, I meant they should make a game, then release a sequel that's exactly the same, just like they used to.

Spammer!

:P ;)

@ Dreadlord: I would be perfectly fine with them making a GOOD game again first, and THEN making sequels... ;)

DeathDude
31-03-2005, 06:27 PM
Agreed make a good original copy of the game, then worry about the sequel and don't mess it up coughDeus Ex2cough.

Deus Ex 2 was good, just nothing like the original, see, that's a bit judgemental, just like the Keebler Elf.

DeathDude
31-03-2005, 06:32 PM
I felt Deus Ex 2 didn't capture the feeling of the original, it changed a lot from the original, it could have been a lot better, but they were working on an x-box version at the time with the pc version, I still remember the outcry when the demo came out, people posting how it was an x-box port.

Dreadlord
31-03-2005, 06:33 PM
Deus Ex was boring unless you got far in the game fast.

DeathDude
31-03-2005, 06:37 PM
I always felt the first part of the game up to JC defection was interesting, as the game got farther and farther it lost some of it's charm on me, although Paris was nice.

I always found it weird that you could tranquilize a guard in front of everyone else, even if he fell down they wouldn't attack you, but if try it a second time they do  .
