seems unlikely - aren't they defunct now? both the sacrifice and interplay websites are no longer existant as far as i can tell, and nobody bought the first one. 'tis a shame, though.

Well becouse Shiny has lost a lot of its quality in my eyes,I wouldnt know if I should be happy or frightend, when I would hear about Sacrifice 2...
SacShadow
07-03-2005, 09:08 PM
well there is an interplay link i do belive on atari.com but for sacrifice website i cant find it which is a shame to me cause ive got halo 1 and 2 i play those games for days but i always keep coming back to play sacrifice and it would be nice to follow up with a sequeal to Eldred (main char) and Zyzyx's ( Eldred's imp servant) quests especially since when u play with the generally bad gods (charnel, pyro, and stratos) you have the option to leave their service and go across the astral void to some new world.

Bad Gods???
They ARE the best.Especially stratos and charnel.I love them :w00t:
The James is quite ok too,but Pyros and Persephone pfffft :not_ok:
Partizanka
07-03-2005, 09:48 PM
I don't think any of them are "bad" They just each balance each other out. Thats the whole point of you being there. You upset the balance and, in the end, it leads to real devastation for everyone. I really love the way you can switch sides at the begining and end up with units from all the different sides.
Lizard

Yeah.I always end up with charnel/stratos mix. They are my favorite gods, they have just wonderful characters. And their units and spells are quite OK too. :D
SacShadow

i love stratos and charnel the best charnel is funny
(james: mithras tells you've been making demons to help marduk.
Charnel: dont belive his lies.
james: what if mithras tells me your a villan?
Charnel: dont belive anything else he has to say!)
and stratos is cool calm calculating and smart his creatures speed provide nice advanteges on the battlefield but they are a little too weak for my tastes
i am however troubled by something why does when you play persephone all the way to the battle with marduk and beat him, instead being greeted by persephone i was greeted by james this is screwed up cause when i did all the other gods staright through to the final battle at the end they greeted me most gave me a choice of what to say(i.e. im leaving or im staying) but nothing with persephone did marduk kill her while i was killing stratos( persephone's last mission before marduk battle) or is my comp broken.

Yeah Charnel is awesome
Charnel:Kill the blasphemour!
Persephone:Death is not answer to everything charnel
Charnel:Yes the tortue has also its merits...
The Stratos units are often with ranged attacks and I use them mainly as snipers...
For hard hitting I have mostly charnel Netherfiend, persephone Troll,or just Yeti...Beneath them I gang ranged unit maybe cast frozen ground,or some wall...

The bore is strong, but it is too slow and creatures generaly can avoid it.I liked the final monster (Rhinok) becouse when it strike,it will hit simply EVERYTHING. :w00t:
My favorite creatures are DeadEye(charnel,it is VERY strong and costs only two souls.I use them to assist my Flurries and Yetis, four or six of them provide SERIOUS firepower) Flurry(Very good bombardment unit, best used against enemy wizard becouse if it will hit him it distrupt each spell he is casting) and both Silverback and Hellmouth(final creatures from Stratos and Charnel...)

It's quite good. I really liked the fact that you could play one god off against another, accumulating different combinations of spells in pursuing your agenda. Only problem was that the pacing was too furious, but then the devs posted a combination hotkey that let you pause things to enter commands.

Pause the combat?
Isnt it consider as cheating?
I have set the hotkey for every spell and I can cast them enought quickly, there is no need to pause the game... :max:

Pause the combat?
Yes, as in pause the game, enter commands to your troops, unpause. The same kind of thing that Darklands did back in the early 1990s, and has been done by many RPGs, strategy titles and sims since then, including the BG, Fallout, and KotoR2 series.
Isnt it consider as cheating?
Why? The developers themselves issued the hotkey combination because they were getting massive complaints that strategy gamers found the pace too furious. So basically you have two different games in one: one for arcaders, another for strategy players. That doesn't sound like a cheat.

Well yes but it is great feeling when you learn to do the strategy in "arcade" mode...
Btw I know what is pause mode, but I never heard that there is one for Sacrifice(and I was VERY interested in this game when I get it).

THE BEST SPELL EVER IS.......... (Drumroll)
Obviously, Raise Dead.
I mean, come on, who wants to waste all that time with the summoning and the soul collecting? It is a fast and cheaply effective way to maintain the perfect army.

Well yes but it is great feeling when you learn to do the strategy in "arcade" mode...
For you, certainly, but for myself I honestly don't see why. Being able to respond with arcade-like dexterity isn't something that makes me think I've accomplished anything game-specific: an arcade is an arcade is an arcade. There's challenge enough in developing alternative strategies in each new Sacrifice game as I take a different path, siding with one god or another. And curiously, much of the playing community was of similar mind--hence, the issue of releasing the hotkey combination after so many players complained in Shiny's forums.

I personally loved the Warmongers, with their chainguns. If you had 4 or five, the enemy stood no change just because of the sheer weight of the bullets thrown at them.

The Stratos has the most difficult missions and his unit are VERY fragile and you need think how to use them. But Yeti and Silverback are thanks to abilty freeze enemies on attack genial(Silverback is my favorite final creature)
I think persephone is one of the most easiest and most powerful gods...

The absolute easiest is James. He is like the easy mode for the game. While Stratos is like Hard mode. Charnel is in the middle.

James AND persephone are easiest, without doubt.Charnel is in middle some of his missions are light and some VERY hard(I never finish his third mission)The stratos is most difficult. And I never played as Pyro

Is the third one the one where you have to ressurect the prince?? All you have to do on that one is Raise Dead.
Pyro is very tough, but not as tough at Stratos. I can never beat the Dynamo mission :-(

No third one is that one that you must beat some wizards and be better than Pyro..You got the Blight creature and Slime spell when you finish it...

Pyro is hard but he has also VERY destructive powers(well he IS god of destruction,no?)Volcano, draginfire, explosion, blind rage,it all can reduce enemy forces very effective. And he has also quite destructive units with warmongers(I tested this unit,it can kill dragon with two shots! )bombards,pyromaniacs,etc...But I never liked phoenix...

The only downside to Pyro is that if you kill a horde of enemies, then Charnel can ressurect them!

Charnel Animate Dead spell is great when you have some time, but in middle of battle, after majority of your mosnters slain, you are just great stationary target and probably you die very quickly when you try to ressurect something.

It's a top game, but is it just me or is the Skirmish AI a lot worse than the campaign's?
I always found the campaign really hard (I did play as Pyro and Stratos, though) but Skirmishes were always really easy (even as those 2).
Anyone else see my point?

This is becouse in Campaign has a Computer a LOT more resources(manaliths,monsters,souls.....) then you (this goes to EXTREME in stratos missions-reminding one when you must without altar(if you die you lose) and just with 8 souls in beginning beat a well fortified and a LOT stronger persephone wizard....) ,but in skirmish you are both on same level.(if you want it harder, try 4players map wiht other three allied against you...)
SacShadow

skirmishes are fun but it would be even better if u culd have like 8 people that would be insane.
but yeah campagins are harder than skirmishes (is that how u spell it??) especially the crucible (last level the fight against marduk) he charges u in like the first minute of the mission with a whole armyu need to be really good wid ur spells if ur gonna kill that army. but in campaign missions where u fight other wizards who charge u wid this gigantic army then its all about the first battle if u win there u pretty much got the whole mission down.
