What do people think is the best version of DOS for a real PC or a full PC emulator (like BOCHS or Qemu)? Personally, I like DR-DOS because it has such great features including a great memory manager and real multitasking. FreeDOS is also cool because it's a 100% GPL version of DOS...

can you install DOS 7.10 without having to format your HDD?

No, you need to format your drive and then install it.

MS DOS7.10 is not the one that you get installing windows 98 (SE), but separate project, made out of DOS that comes with Win98. It was started in China, and it is avaialbe as ISO download/ installation from CD rom. You can install win3.11, win95 or win98 over MS DOS 7.1. (DO not ask for the site, just google for it)

I like it, but I don't have nothing against regular windows 98 dos, which I am using at the moment. There is another folder (WIn98 memory) where I explained how to use DOS that came with windows 98 the way it was meant to be used.
