I have been looking for this game for quite a while. I think it was called Nuclear War or maybe Thermonuclear War. But it was tongue-in-cheek. You picked a leader (Reagan, Thatcher, Castro) and then use missles, propaganda etc. to deplete the polpulations of other countries and build up your own. The box cover had a bikini-clad woman and a mushroom cloud on it. Did I hallucinate this game? Please Help!

Sounds cool. Especially if it has Thatcher in it- all of the politics sims I've found so far are totally US-oriented (apart from one or two soviet ones, and Yes Prime Minister, which isn't quite the same thing).

Anyway, I too would be very interested if someone can track this one down.

It was called Nuclear War. You can install an Amiga emulator (like UAE) and get the game from here:

http://amigos.amiga.hu/ancientoys/archive.html

Dunno about a PC version.

There is a DOS PC version. I played and enjoyed that game years ago.

Sadly I don't remember where I got it and I don't have a copy.

This game is not worth 1$, even less 14,95. That's really trying to steal good money from honest people.

This game is a nice time killer, but is easily under average in about everything. I would not consider purchasing it ever.

Amiga games aren't sold anymore at all though, so if your conscience is bugging you, always download the Amiga version instead. ;)

if you like that game you should check out a game called Superpower. I forgot what company it was but it is one of those 10$ Wal-mart games. It may have been DreamCatcher but im not sure.

Thanx for the help all. :)
The game that is being sold is not a computer game, but a card/board game. :(

The computer game's near the bottom. Third one from the bottom.
NUCLEAR WAR COMPUTER GAME: New World Computing released this one-player computer version of the Nuclear War card game, but now it is available only from US. In this game, you play against 4 computer opponents, all of whom are parodies of famous world leaders (you get to choose from 12 potential opponents). It's a funny, fast paced game that you can play in about an hour and will want to play again and again. Nuclear War is available in IBM 3 1/2" format. ( 5 1/4" version available by special request.). The computer game comes in a zip lock bag. This program is a DOS program and should run on any computer that lets you run a DOS program. No longer available in an AMIGA version.$14. 95.

I got Nuclear War from another ABW site. I won't tell you wich but if you really want that game then it's the only way you'll get it free. It does involve a lot of searching but hey, that's up to you.

This site won't host a sold game, so don't expect Abadonnia to sport it.

Oh, in that case The List needs to be updated. It lists Nuclear War as abandonware.

There was a turn based strategy game for the Amiga a few years back called Nuclear War and I can't find it anywhere. All ive come up with is MAD Global Thermonuclear Warfare which is its remake (i think) and is only demo and shareware. I'm not even sure if there has been a PC version made but i'd be overjoyed if it appeared on Abandonia or Reloaded.

If I remember correctly, there is one available at the Underdogs.

Also, I have a freeware version, which use's Civ 2 graphics and weird humor.

Well, I have it on my HD... I'm simply not sure the game is really Abandonware. That's not my specialty, other members usually do those kind of search.

Yeah...I remember playing that game, specially because of the names of the political leaders:

Tricky Dicky, Ronald Raygun, etc...
