Hack & Slash/Hack & Slay games

Hey guys.

I really enjoy the Mount and Blade series a lot and like the strategic sword fights. Do you happen to know some more games like this (preferably first person view)? Singleplayer, Sandbox/Open World would be great. Gore...the more the better :D

And a focus on fighting tactics, involving blocking mechanics.

Here are the games I already know/played:

You might want to try Fallout New Vegas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-x-1fm2cq8), though it is mostly with ranged weapons (it is way less buggy than F3).

Or the old Thief (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZyA61BReh8) series.

Might worth a look on some old Doom-based games, like Blood (http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/103/Blood.html).

Hunted, the demon forge (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xl10tC6oiUY) also offers chance to walk around, and to use interesting abilities in a hack&slash world.

Blood is a build engine game, it has nothing to do with Doom.

But Heretic (www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJiYaIU0jGU) and Hexen (www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdVxLxC6Ihw) are Doom engine games.

Of course I've already played Hexen, Blood and Doom. While I can see some parallels between sword fighting and the Blood pitchfork and Hexen offers melee combat, that are not quite the games I was looking for gameplay wise (they're excellent nontheless!).

Dude, you're the most polite guy I've ever come across. At least at the internet, dunno if you drink 20 gallons of wine and beat up innocent bystanders in Asenovgrad afterwards in real life. But I doubt it.

Sadly, this year in Asenovgrad terrible rains destroyed our grapes harvest.
So, no wine at all.
Concerning Heretic please be advised this is my BEST favorite game played about 100 times. Yes, 100 times. Even now it is installed and every moment i am able to start battle with bad D"Sparil and his minions.

For me player who does not played Heretic 1.3 (Heretic 2 is poor game) is no player at all.

You don't need to download anything. It is embedded.

The three levels and episode name are in fact untitled and can only be accessed via a warp command.

E6M1 (aka Raven's Lair)
E6M2 (aka The Water Shrine)
E6M3 (aka American's Legacy)

simply types the code while playing (this also applies while in automap mode). After the last letter has been entered, a message of acknowledgement will appear at the top of the screen.

engage## Warps to level E#M#.

during the play i stopped and write down
