Hi All

I am new to the forum, I just signed up today. How is everyone? I am a bit of a retro gamer myself I have downloaded the latest DOSBOX version and have a few games already from other sites.

On to my problem I downloaded Lemmings both types. The first version and the alternate version. The first version has a compatibility problem with the AUTODET exe/application file. I do not know where to find a 64 or 32 version of that file.

I tried the alternate version instead and read about the compatibility problem with the setup.exe on this forum and downloaded the installshield launcher 5 from the link and followed the instruction. It didn't work. I click on the new installshield and it says it can't find a .lib file it needs to continue. The installer is with the other game files as well and that particular lib file is missing.

Can anyone help? I really want to play this game!

You're going at it the wrong way.
Those are DOS games. You don't run their executables in Windows. You don't install them in Windows, either.
To run them in DOSBox, you first have to start DOSBox and then start the games from it. It does not start automatically.

Thanks. It was very helpful. I am pretty much all set now. I just got to check and configure the sound settings. Still trying to find the correct Lemmings file. I am using the alternate version of Lemmings.

In this case there is no sound configuration.
The sound will work if you're running DOSBox at or under 8000 cycles, will not work if you're running it higher (assume "auto" and "max" to equal higher than 8000 for this purpose). You can change that in the DOSBox configuration file or by entering cycles 8000 before running the game.

The executable you want is lemmings.exe

Oh, that explains why when I started it there was no sound or music. Will the cycles 8000 bring back the music as well? :)
