Abandonia Art Contest

Yeah it is.
This is the first Abandonia Art Contest. The main theme, being an abandonware site, is videogames.

The rules are being defined, and we're open to suggestions.
This poll will last 1 week ('till 23/02/2005, 21.00 PM GMT), and its purpose is to decide what'll be the theme of the first contest.
There will be prizes and proper awards to the winners, and we expect to get as much feedback as possible.
After the poll, we'll start to gather your works, probably via PM, and sort out the best ones. After that, a democratic vote through a poll will decide the winner.

As I said before, we're open to suggestions.

Just because you mean old men don't like heroine-driven games, or don't notice them doesn't mean they aren't out there. :angry:

Look at any Final Fantasy game, and there are enough heroines that you can't throw a rock without hitting one.

best weapon in a video game gives a lot more scope (cat silenced shotgun and anthrax infected cow heads beat the feminine heroes or evil people any day! :P)

Hmm, true. But I dunno. If I did start drawing villain for this contest, I might be tempted to just use the Miser or something. Nah, if anything, I think a rule must be made that anything drawn for this contest is original and never drawn before by you or anyone.
Or is this some fan art thing. I am confused. Are we supposed to draw original characters???

Ah, OK. Then lets do villains or villainesses or good guys. On second thought. Lets make the theme Game heros Vs. their respective villains. Like Mario fighting Bowser or something. Or like Sora against False Riku. Or Link against Ganon.

i will discuss your proposal with void...maybe we've already found the
most interesting theme :D

furthermore, thinking about teamwork might be not a bad thing..
if ppl who consider themselves not that experienced in painting but do like
to participate nonetheless, why shouldn't they be given a chance to work
together?

I voted for Futuristic Machine, or whatever it was. Otherwise, I don't stand a chance. Drawing human bodies'd depend more on technique than on creativity, and at the end, both're important, no? Otherwise, you'll end up like those from Art back in my highschool. They all drew alike, and all had lifeless drawings.
