I like MUSIC!
To be considered music, it need to show that it has been worked with over time. I can't stand a lot of techno and trance because it sounds like some guy just pressed the loop button after 30 seconds, and then made some girl sing a single line... which he then put on repeat.. :x
Examples of music includes:
Eric Clapton (UK)
Marvin Gaye (USA)
Pink Floyd / Roger Waters (UK)
Jean Michell Jare (France)
Angélique Kidjo (Bénin)
Bel Canto (Norway)
Anouk (Netherlands)
Elvis Presley (USA)
Fuck (Sweden)
Nick Cave (Australia)
INXS (Australia)
Björk (Iceland)
And so on...
(I made this list international, seeing how spread the members are around the globe).
And before Kosta starts complaining about there being no Croatians on the list...
Joseph Haydn (Croatian ethnic group / Austria) :P

I like every kind of music, but only if it sounds harmonically or have that "touch" which will get you.
At the moment I like to listen heavy metal most, but I love jazz, Bee Gees and Abba too and at the time it was common I was big fan of all kind of techno, rap, trance, house and the like, but now since it is almost dead direction, I don't listen to techno anymore. Apparently I put that death-metal cd in the player, Cradle of Filth if anyone knows them, satanic-like group and enjoy my feeling go up, but I don't listen to them too long or I'll get headache from that mayhem of sounds.
Anyway, like I said I could listen to almost any of the music if it sounds good, but to be honest, I don't listen to the music that is out today, all that modern music like Sarah Connor or Eminem just isn't that deep-sounding, it's hollow, sounds like junk and makes no sense for me to listen to that.

And heres my sorta current playlist: My winamp playlist thingy (http://users.tpg.com.au/lukinso/playlist.htm)
I used to be more into metal stuff, but about a year ago, discovered Jeff Buckley, and have been into more mellow and acoustic stuff. I'm a big fan of RaTM and Audioslave and RHCP and The Prayer Boat(Any irish people here?), and also coldplay. I love Dream Theater and many other heavier stuff too.

Anyone knows Chris Huelsbeck? He makes music for computer games and also for listening and he makes GOOD music. Look at this site to inform yourself about him if you like: http://www.huelsbeck.com/
Also you can hear some of his music for free here: http://www.electronicscene.com/artist_music.cfm?a=2635
You have to register there though in order to hear that music, but that should be no problem, you don't have to pay for anything if you don't actually want to buy some music there.

Fully agreed. Somewhat strange that there's no more real music this times underway... Perhaps it's because there are aplenty of machines to make the music for you, so you can't feel the instrument and the music yourself anymore... Or perhaps it's because everyone tries to get his music on and sell it for best price and become popular only, and I think there are too much too young people that make this music. Most of them don't even know how real musik have to be.
But try the above links, that one is good music.

I agree entirely. Dream Theater are awesome. I particularly like there softer stuff, and my favourite album is Awake. Train of Thought is good, but yeah i sorta moved away from the whole metal stuff so imo its not one of their best. Scenes form a memory is also awesome.
I've only recently gotten into Joe Satriani, but I know he's awesome, so I will be getting more.

It plays randomly, so I always hear a favourite being played... And it plays constantly, so there is always something on. I have not made any playlist, because I like the fact that I have no control over the music selection. Every song is a surprise, and they all bring certain memories from my past...

My favourite song now is probably The Reason, by Hoobastank.

I'm hardcore into music, it's actually one of my main passions. I'm a huge rock fan, groups like linkin park, disturbed, mad at gravity, Afi, three days grace, the list goes on and on. I'm surprised to see so many fans of Muse, I just got into them...I guess that's cause there more well known around the world then here in the U.S. I also like groups like weezer, collective soul, third eye blind, as well as old groups like simon and garnfunkel, bob dillan, cat stevens. But I reallly reccomend oDC. I use it, and an Icelandic hub (like a server) so I don't have to pay for the transfer. And I can find almost everything there (although Shawshank Redemption has been a pretty hard case  )... If you know DC++, then oDC is a lot like that, just a better, newer version. :D

His music resembles that of Rhapsody, they compose the symphonic epic Metal, too. Only that this piece is just symphonic Metal.

Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai did Somewhere Over the Rainbow together. Personally, I think it's one of Malmsteen's best songs, it's absolutely incredible. I'd upload it but I'm running really low on webspace. And yeah, now that I think about it I can see certain similarities between Rhapsody and Yngwie Malmsteen. I think most of today's metal guitarists sort of based themselves off of Malmsteen in one way or another, I mean the guy was one of the most epic guitarists the world has ever seen.

I've uploaded a few good songs on my server for you to hear. Some of course, are better than others but they're all really good =P
Demons & Wizards - Blood on My Hands (http://chef.blade2k.net/Stuff%20I%20didn't%20make/Demons%20&%20Wizards%20-%2005%20-%20Blood%20On%20My%20Hands.mp3) - This song is the best song by Demons & Wizards, it's a melodic power metal song by the guys from Blind Guardian and Iced Earth. If you like either of those bands or want to hear something new, check this out. As far as power metal goes, this is pretty heavy, but as far as metal goes it's not that heavy at all. His voice is heavier than the guitar, if anything.
Dragonforce - Champion of the Waste (http://chef.blade2k.net/Stuff%20I%20didn't%20make/Dragonforce%20-%20Champion%20of%20the%20Wastes.mp3) - This song is a ten minute long epic by a Brazillian band called Dragonforce. The solo will absolutely blow you away, the drummer paired with the guitarists and keyboardist is just an absolutely INCREDIBLE group of some of the most beautiful speed and power metal you will ever hear.
Hammerfall - At the End of the Rainbow (http://chef.blade2k.net/Stuff%20I%20didn't%20make/HammerFall%20-%20Legacy%20of%20Kings%20-%2006%20-%20At%20The%20End%20Of%20The%20Rainbow.mp3) - Some excellent music by Hammerfall, this song is classic power metal. High pitched guitars, guys with high voices singing about slaying dragons and rescuing kingdoms, this band is what Power Metal is all about. This song is one of my favorite songs by them although just about all songs are good.
Iron Maiden - Aces High (http://chef.blade2k.net/Stuff%20I%20didn't%20make/Iron%20Maiden%20-%20Aces%20High.mp3) - Simpy put, this is the best song ever. There are no words to describe this absolutely amazing song. If there is only one song of this bunch that you download, make this the one.
Stratovarius - Black Diamond (http://chef.blade2k.net/Stuff%20I%20didn't%20make/Stratovarius%20-%20Black%20Diamond.mp3) - This is a pretty good song by a band called Stratovarius. They blend harpischord and guitar pretty well in this song, and there's one part with the drums that I really like. Overall it's a really good song.
Check them out, you'll be pleased =)
