Started before 10 minutes.

Gods and Kings.

Augustus Caesar - Rome.

I started with 12 warriors, 10 peasants and 3 deer around good valley with lake.
Shame, but my experience with such games is Master of Magic only. And Dune 1&2 maybe..

ha ha ha
Fog, fog and fog...

Caro Capo,
You know this game before me again?
:picard:
Basta! I give up for ever..
There is no game which i started and You say:
- O, yoga, i know this game already...

Wait, wait.. There is a game I passed but You no.
Ha ha ha
BoK.
Mama mia....
Pls. do not cry i know You do not like BoK.

Grazie for encouragement, i need it.

After so much RPG I am little bored with this genre and want to play something very new for me.
My experience with this style is very poor.
But senor Japo is a good leader.

Now i have to read some Civilopedia to learn how to start..
Only one Q if You do not mind.
If You think this Q is cheating pls do not answer.

- Possible flying as Rome leader?

I like this game option very much.

I was wondering when will the RPGs start to bore you...so now I know.

And a little tip considering CiV, if by peasants you mean settlers, you probably won't be needing them in such great numbers and especially not in the beginning of the game. ;)

Actually i never played Civ 5, i played Civ 3, but basically is the same game :)

Ave Cæsar! :)

I also wonder what you mean by 12 warriors and 10 peasants? You mean you have one unit of each, but each appears as a group of several people?

Listen to your advisors, they're like a tutorial.

I don't think this game is really longer than most RPGs. Growing your empire to greatness can take less than leveling up in many of them. :P

Thank You for interest of yoga played games.
You very kind.
But after 25-30 RPG even the dedicated fan as brave will say - Basta and stop!
Time for new beginning. Hmmm... The witcher 1&2 wait for me but my PC is weak for these nice games..
Would be so kind to explain the meaning of 3 numbers and 3 letters down in your signature ? Some completed games?
Merci.

@Caro Capo
Yes, the idea is the same in these games.

@Senor Japo

Ha ha ha
But Caesar can not makes a turn....:3:
I read and read the Civilopedia but something is wrong from the very beginning as the case of my battling in Morrowind when some settings make me cry and You helped me twice then.
The game started even a little bit slow till loading. Then playing speed is good.
I am Rome Caesar. Earth.Great plains. Tiny map - Duel. 2 enemies with 4 city states. Game pace - Standard. Difficulty - 2.
But the interface is ..?
I am in some nice valley with river or lake. 3 deer. 12 men, i think they are warriors. And another unit with 9-10 men. I think they are peasants who like Master of Magic will start to build granary, university and like?
I expected to see on the left down side label Settlers and icon of Town. NO any.
I click on the small icons over the both units. Nothing happens.
I expect to see a slight sunny light showing the place of Rome. No.
Why?
Where can be my fail?
Pls i am like newborn baby. Do not laugh at me. Danke.
Maybe some patch needed or what.
Version 6.1....hmm 170 or like. Will check and tell the correct name.

You don't count the individual men in your unit. That's just a cosmetic representation of your unit strength. You usually start with a warrior unit and a settler unit. You use the settler unit to build a city, otherwise you're going to lose the game fast. And then with the city, you build buildings, wonders, or more units. Settlers can build new cities, workers can improve the area around cities, scouts are good for exploring, warriors and soon archers are your first military units.

The game will pretty much tell you exactly what you need to do on the right side of the screen. Alerts will appear telling you what's going on around the world. A button over the map will direct you to things you need to do, like select what to build in your city, choose a technology to research, or units that need orders. You just keep clicking that button and doing whatever it wants you to do until it finally ends the turn.

Click there and you shall enter the fabulous world of Backloggery.

About CiV, just play in-game tutorial, it will help you understand the game much better than reading civilopedia will. You'll need that later, when you become better player and would like to try higher difficulties and improve your tactics.

Play the tutorial, it's in the single player menu. Your advisors will tell you what to do.

On top of the map at the right bottom corner there's a button that tells you what to do next ("a unit needs orders", "end turn", etc.), and you can center the map on the task by clicking it.

The units should be selected when you click on them or their icons, if they're yours.

Rome doesn't exist yet, you have to use those settlers to found it.

Also, after you familiarize yourself with Civ5 (it's quite a simple game, unlike previous, Civ4) - check Warlock: Master of the Arcane. It's quite good attempt to recreate Master of Magic. They still have big problems with enemy AI and balance, but for me it's still most successful attempt to capture MoM feeling so far.

Seconded. I bought it in the flash sale, after watching TB's WTF on it. It's an awesome little gem, and yes, the best spiritual successor to MoM near and far.

TY, mates, for support and advices,
You very kind.

Excuse me for the delayed answer. Instead of building Rome, 2 days i was not Caesar but ordinary vine picker..
And with a clipper in my hand harvested vines - sadly- because of no rains the harvest is not good.

..Anyway i made many attempts to progress in CiV 5. At last very small success - I found the town of Rome. Yes, i dully read the instructions of my advisers.
Still newborn baby.
Still.....
The graphic is nice.
Because i am novice, still not enjoyed..
Hmmmm... in Warcraft 1 the peasants built the farms, barracks and like and this process was easy and simple.
Hope to meet same here..

I want to lead tank unit! I am ex-tank commander of 12 tanks.

Dear Smiling Spectre,
Spocibo for recommending me the game. I will try it in a mean moment.

Dear Hunvagy
When You recommend some game, it is mandatory for me.

Hehe, well see for yourself, it is nice.

As for building, Civilization has nothing in common with Warcraft or Age of Empires. Forget those games, quick. In Civ, your city houses all your people, it builds itself, not the units. The units are there to find new cities, improve nearby lands, scout and fight for you. Your city grows along with its influence circle, and you can use your settlers to improve the nearby lands (At least that was the case with Civ 1-4, don't know about 5, I heard they changed it.) You have to get used to a different mindset, Civ is empire building, not some RTS with unit rushing.

Bad and bad news.
So bad that i was forced to uninstall CiV5.

- Why, brave?
Do You want to play game which needs 17 minutes to download? No of course.
Do You want to play game which freezes every 2 minutes and You have to use Ctrl+Alt-Del to receive message "Came closed"? No of course.

Moreover I press on Adviser button. Nothing happen.
And more and more. Not game but torture..

-Why so?
Because minimal system requirements for CiV 5 are:
- 2 GB RAM - yoga = 1.5 GB RAM
- Dual core processor - yoga = AMD 1.4 GHz
In this case i am not so lucky as with Oblivion...

To be or not to be? - is the question..

Blood in my hearth, tears in my eyes.
I am able right now to increase my RAM from 1.5 to 2 GB.
But CPU remains weak.
I plan to play The witcher 2 (min 4 GB RAM and powerful CPU). So the radical solution is to change MB, CPU and min. 4 GB RAM with option for more RAM.
.......
Maybe, maybe i will try games CiV 3 and new recommended Warlock. Master of the Arcane.

Dear mates and especially Senor Japo, please, excuse me i failed in project CiV 5.
Not me, my PC is betrayer.
But this game is registered in my listing Future games..

Also i want to be excused by our nice Mod.

Si, seņor Japo.

Absolutely.

I played 1 year World of Xeen and 7 times Ultima 8 Pagan.
But I passed both games.
I am tenacious player.
The first game with my new, modernized PC will be CIV5.

The only game I do not pass is Dungeon Master 2.
I failed because did not used my both hands but only one for mouse movement. Well, when final battle comes i am unable to be so fast with one hand only. The solution was to use right hand with mouse to shot, to cast and left hand to move.
But i keep my last save file of this game. Maybe after time i will start to practice correct moving management and win the final battle.

The worse thing is that no good games remain for brave.
Only 1 game before modernizing my PC...Temple...

rec. by RSS
Temple of Elemental Evil: A Classic Greyhawk Adventure (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/temple-of-elemental-evil-a-classic-greyhawk-adventure)* - OK

DREAMS
1.The witcher NO
2.The witcher 2 NO THE BEST
3.Dragon age 1 NO rec. by Caro Capo
4.Dragon age 2 NO
5.Dragon age 3 NO
rec. by Hunvagy
6.Drakensang: The Dark eye NO
7.Drakensang: The River of Time* NO

Total 8 games left!!

Mama mia.......

and then?????

NO - weak PC. Impossible start now.
* - DL already.

Dear Hunvagy, please tell me are there some games which require 8 GB RAM?

Fallout 3 made on modernized version of Oblivion engine, if I am not mistaken. So if you cannot play Oblivion - F3 is not for you.

NWN2, just opposite, can be just for you. :) Maybe somewhat slow, but playable anyway.

But what about all this old games? I forgot, what do you think about it, but Vampires: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 and, say, Anachronox, seems just perfect for your tastes.

Also, if you are in magic strategies - I would heartful recommend to you Dominions 3 - it's the best turn-based magic strategy for me that I know so far.

I started 2 days before the game
Warlock:Master of the Arcane.
Nice game.

I started as a human and another great mage - this one with skeletons.
So i play 2 dif. races.

As a human i can not produce gold and suffer.
As a skeleton i have plenty of gold.

CIV 3 is ready.

Also IMO forget about CIV5. CIV4 is where you want to be, and ofc Civilization 4: Colonization ;) (And Galactic Civilizations 2)

Civ 4 looks very faulty for me. It's totally battle-oriented. Well, I can take it, but... it's simply not Civilization that I need. And above that goes obsolete spies, crazy cultural dominance, low city amount and totally strange "haste production" prices... Not mine game at all.

@Dear Smiling Spectre,
Spacibo Vam, (TY) for the help.
You are very kind.

I will pay attention of the first games You recommended me.
Dominions 3 - to be fair brave is not very good with magic strategies.
My friend - twillight - is specialist of similar games.
Pls. i passed Oblivion, but this game is like sequel of Morrowind. I do not like this game too much. And Yes, FO3 will be not my game at all.
FT is nice game.

NWN2 seems to be good game. What about NWN1?

In the moment I do play Warlock:Master of the Arcane. You and well respected Hunvagy recommended me WMotA.

No, i will play never CIV4.

I prepare to start CIV3 soon.

Please to be excused for my delayed answers. Again yoga not build buildinds but was ordinary wine picker, Y'now.

OFF
Very bad harvest of wine. No rains. From 5 decars we received 2 tones only; expected 5 tones.

All recommendations are written and recorded, then evaluated.

Ah, good to see it!

Did you seen my previous list? It's right then. :)

Add to them marvelous Planescape: Torment, complex Arcanum and quite interesting Dark Sun dilogy - and you are set for RPGs of 90s. :)

I would also recommend both System Shock, first Deus Ex and Thiefs (all three) - from the one good studio.

You might be interested in King's Bounty: The Legend (http://www.mobygames.com/game/kings-bounty-the-legend) Yoga. It's developed by a Russian company and as such is natively in Russian, although it's also available in English. Don't have myself possibility to acquire it at the moment, but it does seem to be excellent, and should run fine on your computer. If you played the original Kings' Bounty (http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/151/Kings+Bounty.html) and Heroes of Might & Magic series, this one is practically in the same line.
Also see the Wikipedia article about it - Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King%27s_Bounty:_The_Legend).

Actually, Russia is not very good in last years. :(

There are Space Rangers 2 (it's like upgraded part one, so don't bother with first), King's Bounty... and this is pretty much all "universally good" titles from last years.

But if you are want be more marginal, there is also Eador (but it yet to be upgraded and translated). Also there are Mor/Pathologic and Turgor/The Void from Ice-Pick Lodge. And of course Majesty 2 and it's spin-off Warlock, but you already must know it. :)
