What's with Teen Agent? Great game, shouldn't be missing on such a good site! :ok:

Woops, keep forgetting I got the archive for it ready to test, upload, wait for acceptance, review and screenshot it. Great game indeed. Great sense of humour in it, as well.

Teen Agent (Teenagent? TeenAgent?) was an old adventure game that could be best described as "Loom in the 90s". It had a similar art style but with loads of tongue-in-cheek humour (not that LucasArts games didn't... :ok:) that had the classic Shareware Cliffhanger Ending™. Anyone know if this has reached Abandonware status yet? I'd love to give this game another run, if for nothing more than to see the description of the unconcious pigeon.

Actually, it's freeware :ok: Too bad Abandonia doesn't allow us to put freeware games up, as the game's one of the funniest adventure games I've ever played. It is available here (http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=1133). Haven't tested it to see if it got further than the first part, but I suppose it does. Will look for a different version if it doesn't.

I don't see why Freeware is prohibited around here.

TeenAgent is a cool Polish game, that was released commercially over here. I have the full CD version with Polish voices and I quite enjyoed playing it. I knew that tere was an English version as well, but I had no idea it was released as freeware... probably they prepared it for release but didn't find a distributor... Well anyway, enjoy it!

The English version of Teen Agent was sold for several years as shareware, but was later on released as freeware.

EDIT: Dobra gra, ale troche nielogiczna.

Simple. We want to keep the site dedicated to Abadonware PC games only.

If I'm not mistaken Beneath a Steel Sky is freeware...

Personally I would prefer the site not to be very strict on this, as there are several excellent games that have been commercial titles before, but have been released as freeware by their creators (like Teen Agent here). With GTA an exception has been made, and I think there are other worthy ones.

I agree, it'd be nice to have some cool freeware games that are out there, there are some good ones.

I heard with Beneath a Steel Sky, that Revolution allowed some sites like ScummVm allowed to host the game.

They do link to ScummVm, but if it's classed as freeware that should mean everybody can distribute it.

Just a quick update... this game still rules. Am I surprised? Nope! I'm too busy laughing myself silly to be surprised and too busy racking my brains to figure out how to get past the next puzzles to worry about trivial things like food, sleep and hygiene. I will breach your walls, comically guarded mansion! Just you wait! :sneaky:

WHAT?

That's bull, that means one of my reviews will be removed.

What brought on this decision?

I hope it wasn't purely this idea

Anyway Teen Agent is an excellent game, loved every minute of it. :ok:

Oh, right. The Secret Project that was hinted at in the newsbit in January (http://www.abandonia.com/main.php?nav=archive_month&year=2005&month=1). Wonder when it will be finished?

Heh...

If the site hosts ex-commercial and now abandonware games, I don't see why it cannot host ex-commercial and now freeware (or going under other free licenses) games...

Of course widely available games that were never commercial can as well be removed - why waste abandonia bandwidth if you can find it in 5 seconds on google? But I wouldn't remove commercial titles just because authors released them as freeware and not simply stopped caring so that they could fall under abandonware category... IMO it's even better reason to keep them here.

The Fifth Horseman

Well, bojster got a point there... Teenagent was commercial at one point, now it's released as public domain... public domain is quite a bit more legal then abw too... and we have some public domain games around too...

I sure hope the whole "secret project" thing isn't just about removing games from the site. I've been itching to know what it is, and that would be quite a dissapointment.

Also, I'd like to motion that at least Beneath a Steel Sky isn't removed (if that was ever even considered). Who seconds that motion?

I don't think it's about removing games - just setting up another site for them. I just fail to see why the previously commercial ones couldn't be on Abandonia as well.

I wonder what that "sister site" (Kosta let those words slip in one PM to me recently - so I bet it's true) will be called.

Freelonia? LOL
