This week the one and only TheChosen asks...
Which is the best cinematic platformer in your opinion?
Pick your choice!

Has to be Flashback, surely? It was certainly cinematic, and had a good mix of platforming, puzzles and shooting.
Blackthorne was pretty good too!
Surely Flashback, although I feel bad voting against Prince of Persia, which created the genre in the first place, and is just genius.
Another World without any doubt.

I voted for Weird Dreams, could have voted for Prince of Persia or Oddworld, but that was the most original, there wasn't any similar game on PC ever since, except a Japanese PS1 simulator.

I chose Prince of Persia because it is the only one I've played.

^^ see? That's another problem with title-specific polls. People vote on the sole thing they know, which might've turned out not their favorite otherwise, had they known other.
I've played (at least briefly) 5 of those titles, I recall seeing screenshots from at least 1 more.

That's no problem at all :bleh1:
For title-specific polls we only need a previous nomination poll, like we did in the past in AB and AR.
Another World is cool but I remember too many adventure-like hard to solve puzzles that stop the action (for a long time if you don't resort to a walkthrough).

I think it's not that big disadvantage.
Because of such polls, people may be more willing to try (or at least look for) other mentioned games.
Of course, result of a poll will be influenced, but that way poll also has "educational" function :sneakrete:
Pop is not very cinematic, dont know why is winning :mhh:

It's all the more a fun game though :p Also the only one from the list which I played, so hence why I chose it.
I appreciate all of them but I vote for the Indie Limbo, it's a breeze of fresh air in a market populated by FPS and same raped brands. And it reminds me of the fabulous 90's. :)

If it's the 90s you're after, surely you'd want a platformer like Jazz Jackrabbit, Zool, Cool Spot or James Pond 2: Codename Robocod!
...and if you don't mind modern Flash game with retro look, I recommend Cactus McCoy (http://www.mobygames.com/game-group/cactus-mccoy-series). I was never into platformers/shooters/brawlers yet I love this one.

Flashback. It has an atmosphere wich grabs you in to the game's world, and makes you want more and more. The CD version was even better.
The CD version was even better.
Debatable. They've changed the animations to pre-rendered 3D, while the original ones fit the game style better.
Was there any difference between the two versions besides the cutscenes? Anyhow most people I've talked to prefer the original ones, and so do I.
Flashback and Prince of Persia.
