Well, downloading Daggerfall from the internet is illegal, since it's still protected by ESA.
Buy yourself the game on CD and you should have no troubles.
Daggerfall is now free and it isn't against the law to download and play it!!

Did you check the date of the post you just quoted? It was from 4 years ago and at that point Daggerfall was still protected.
