One of my favorite games, I Actually Got Kicked out of the computer lab in college once for playing it.

Try to run it in pure Dos - exit Windows 98 and start Ms-Dos mode.

first, I want to say I really like this game a lot, I wish they made more LSL games. I already posted this in the troubleshooting section, but I haven't gotten a response yet, so maybe people here will help me. I have a lot of trouble with this game freezing up when I enter certain doors, turn the faucet on in my room, or begin the cut scenes with each girl. The first two problems I've been able to get past by saving and reloading, but the last one involving the cut scenes I can't get past. I mean I can skip the whole scene, but that defeats a lot of the humor in this game. If anyone knows how to fix this, or of an existing patch, let me know, thanks,
-Sean

Where do you play it? DOSbox or Windows?

Are you playing the game on an old comp?

That doesn't mean anything, I played the game long ago on my old PC too, it was 486DX2 66Mhz with 48 MB RAM, but the game ran flawlessly.
But if he plays the game in DosBox, he most certainly needs at least P4 with 2 Ghz, as the game uses high-resolution mode and also uses Dos-extender to run (which needs more system power than games that doesn't run in extended mode).

I'm playing the game on a very new computer but I'm using a really god load program called abandon loader. I don't know if you've heard of it, it works really well with all DOS programs. I guess I'm not the only person who has had trouble with this game as well, I read that people on other websites had the same problem, so I'm assuming it has something to do with the game itself. Not the specific one you have on this site, all of them. I think it may need a patch or something. Hope that makes sense, :)

Try DosBox, perhaps that solves the problem.

The problem with that option, is that I already downloaded dos-box from this site, and it isn't recognized on my computer...So I don't know how to run it...Sorry that this list of problems keeps getting longer and longer, I really don't mean it to, :P .

Ok, this is the deal, everytime it comes to the point where larry is gonna score, the screen freezes, and nothing happens. Thats it...don't know what to do...

Should I just download the gamr again? cause it seems like I'm the only one running into trouble with larry 6.

I can't help you with it... sorry. It seems to work for me.

Perhaps you can fix the problem by changing the speed in DOSbox.
CTRL + F11 decreases speed
CTRL + F12 increases speed

I'll give it a try, and let you know if I run into anymore trouble...

Try disabling ems support in dosbox.

Then your Larry should run flawlessly. I had the same problem on my old 486 dx4, and then I thought about if it was some sort of memory error, and I disabled the ems.

It worked :)

I have to agree, dosbox is the way to go.

I purchased all Leisure Suite LArry games (1-7 and casino) a few years ago...no problems on Windows 98. Tried to put them on my system which has been upgraded to XP and OMG ...it chocked BIG TIME.

So I opened shape up or slip out in Dosbox......Beaudafull :Brain:

Oh and Mr Laffer does score....right at the end. That is the whole point of the game.......to get to this one moment in the game when some wacked out rich x-new york princess decides that Larry is practically the new guru of all that is spiritual and "Worships" him. (You see nothing).

Now number seven....if you find the easter eggs there are some "Tittilating" moments, and in cartoon colour.

Good Luck with conquering the game.

I don't know if anyone is fanatic (LSL) to care, but I have the really rare Hi-Rez, talkie version of this game in ISO format. Works perfectly :D

Don't know if it's considered abandonware as well, but if abandonia wants I can send it over. It's quite large though, 512Mb...

I believe the problem is with your machine.

I just tried to download it and it worked like a charm. Are you using a download accelerator or manager? In that case, switch it of :ok:

I would love to have it, but unfortunately it is too big for the main site. We can, however, put it in the VIP section. I would love to see it there. :D

PM Kosta and ask for a FTP account :ok:

You should grab DosBox, and to make life easier for you grab the DosBox Windows GUI...

set it, and forget it... then your good to go...

:)

play with some of the various settings on the profile you create using the win GUI app and your laughing...

As far as I know there aren't any places which have permission to host it, so I suppose it would be easiest to buy the games.

Quite honestly it's a shame to see tat like this in the same category as games like monkey island and day of the tentacle. If you're having trouble getting hold of a copy or getting it to run believe me, you aren't missing a thing! I love adventure games and I've worked my way through virtually every major release since the days of Monkey Island I and this series was the only one that had no redeeming features whatsoever. I got the whole series in a box full of other adventures for a bargain price and couldn't believe someone would actually exchange money for such uninteresting, unerotic shabby smut.

To be precise there are only two sorts of people who would enjoy this game. Ten year old boys who are getting strange feelings about the girl next door and don't know how to resolve them, and forty year old men who, like larry, never did manage to score with any women. Dismal is too weak a word for this series. For once ESA is doing something useful in keeping this rubbish in the bin where it belongs!

 No offence to anyone who thinks these are great games!

Is there anywhere else to get the game besides Abandonia?
I'd like to know this as well. All my favorites are ESA controlled now. :( I found the site a month too late I guess. Anywhere else that I could find the games to download? [/b][/quote]

Make changes in the recourse file in the lsl6 directory

- mouseDrv = STDMOUSE.DRV

Sorry, but no help will be given. These games are highly illegal to download. (If you live in the US, you can buy them off Amazon from Vivendi Universal).

No offence xndr2181 but it just sounds like you don't really know what your doing. do this. download D-FEND its a program that goes over the top of Dosbox so it looks windows XP ish which is far more easy to get games working with dosbox, seems more stable and i've had no problems with it. so get dosbox, then get D-fend "google it" and it should work fine.

Sebatianos

You don't download, that's what NO GO means!!! The game is ESA protected, no-abandonware site is allowed to host it for download.

I presume you already know how to mount your CD drive in DosBox, correct?

Switch there, type in INSTALL. If that didn't work, try SETUP instead.
If that fails, run the following commands:
dir *.exe
dir *.com
dir *.bat
And try running the filenames they return.

Some games are protected or still sold, and not downloudable. All Larry games are sold at Amazon. You can buy it there.
But, you can download exactly 939 games for free :)
