Nice! I wish they included more tracks from Tyrian, the game has excellent music ^_^

Seems to me, the Unreal Tournament theme resembles a bit Halo's Perilous Journey, or the other way around, since UT was earlier. Not much, but gives me the same feeling.

You can get the game music for Tyrian on GOG.com. It is free if you have an account (which is free). :zoidberg:

Did they record the MIDIs with some soundfont?
I think I managed to run the original game in DOSBox with Gravis Ultrasound emulation, but I'm unsure if it used the Gravis synth or the patches.

Not sure about midi or not .. my hearing is an ol'mans hearing .... hardly can tell the difference nowadays. :whistling:
But if you want to try things out in dosbox there is an interesting topic @ Vogon regarding gravis:

If with ver 0.74 it's needed or not, as sound emulation made some huge improvements, yours to find out.
If you want to try things out I would advise to do a second dosbox install besides your regular dosbox (alter folder install name to dosbox_gravis or whatever), just be sure to put an appropiate dosbox.conf file in the second dosbox install folder.

Thanks for the link! :) I do remember skimming through it sometime ago, it's pretty cool.
BTW, I've been changing DOSBox builds rather often lately (most were in the "downgrade" direction), trying to find a good choice to run various games properly. As it seems to be the case with software in general, one version is never enough, although one should do justice to the team as the official builds handle most things pretty well to say the least :) I do like Taewoong's builds for the few extra bells and whistles here and they have.
