View Full Version : The Worst movies of all time

The purpose of this thread is to find some of the most horrible, god-awful movies ever made. And Im not referring to something like "God I hate Avatar" or some cheaply made B-movie that tries its best, but the one's that are bad all around: bad acting, bad writing, bad directing, bad ideas and maybe even bad editing. The one's that make you feel like watching it kills your braincells. Could be hilariously bad or painfully bad. Or both.
So post links, Youtube videos, reviews and stuff. And remember, we're talking about the best of the worst.
Originally this started out as a chatbox discussion with me and Midget. I posted the only worthwhile scene from Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, he posted the trailer for Sharktopus (yes, a hybrid of a shark and octopus). And I had to top it off with one of the worst movies I've ever heard...The Birdemic.

Whats worse than using CGI? Using gifs. Also, this is supposed to be a serious movie and not a comedy.
Other movie I can remember as bad is "The Room". Yes, the incredible work of Tommy Wiseau who produced, directed, wrote and starred it, and because of Tommy's incredible talent it was later referred to as black comedy instead of serious drama.

This is just one scene. For proper view of the movie, I recommend the Nostalgia Critics review of it. Or just try to watch it. Your taste & sanity.

You know...I should have probably mentioned this one before the Birdemic. After that, this one doesnt seem so bad.

Pretty-pretty please, let me introduce a little music-video spin off to this thread (let us save the really big movies for later):

Turkish Batman called.... Bedmen:
GbPtNGH1K1U (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbPtNGH1K1U)
Epic fight scene from 10:25. I'll be sure to watch it in it's glorious entirety, I haven't watched films I don't understand a word from since I was 6, when I watched some awful german dubbed chuck norries movie to the end of a VHS tape's life expectancy.
No words for this... 16:27
WsR3uhkiNjY (http://youtu.be/WsR3uhkiNjY)
Superman!

Manos - The Hands of Fate (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060666/)
and
The Beast of Yucca Flats (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054673/)
are probably the worst ones I ever saw. I actually like bad movies, they're usually funny, but those two shouldn't even be called movies, watching them just made me aggressive since nobody involved had any bit of talent or at least tried to do something more than the absolute minimum.
Manos was filmed with a camera that could only record 32 seconds of film, that explains the quality of the movie a bit. No, that's no joke.

Avatar (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499549/). Truly I could list a lot of movies that are big budget over hyped fails, but they made a lot of money so they have a market. I just prefer my movies to have some thought put into them and not just be about making the biggest explosions to distract people...oh and a certain Director stealing my childhood cartoons from me. Of course I also love a good B grade or lower movie, but part of that is the charm they can have and the idea that the people involved wanted to make that film no matter what.

Huh? It might not be the best, since it's basically just Pocahontas with aliens and sh*t, but I'd not put it on the worst movies ever list by far... I quite enjoyed the 3D version to be honest >.> (and no, I was distracted by seeing a gas giant that felt real at the beginning, not silly explosions :p)

After the E.T was made, it generated a bit of E.T craze, where lot of movie-makers tried to make their own little extra-terrestial movie. Needless to say, a lot of them were really bad. Nukie is one of them. Probably the worst, if you dont count E.T porn movies (I wish I was kidding about the porn, but Im not).

Aw yeah. Thats probably one of the best Turkish rip-offs out there. You can even get it on DVD from the Dark Maze Studios.
I fear this is starting to turn into x-country x-popular movie, but what the hell, this is too good material to pass on.
You think Turkish Star Wars is bad? Then check out "Os Trapalhoes Na Guerra Dos Planetas", known to many as...Brazilian Star Wars. Its worse than Turkish one (although some Brazilians might want to disagree with that).

Jar Jar Binks, eat your heart out.
Going back to E.T, even he got a Turkish rip-off. Two infact.

The Amazing Bulk.
Just by watching the trailer, it makes me appreciate Ang Lee's The Hulk movie more.

EDIT: After watching a review of it, I can have to say that the trailer is just a foreplay.
And here's the climax. I'd like to remind everyone that yes, this is a real movie, yes, this clip is from the said movie and yes, it got a DVD release. You can get it for around 10$ on Amazon, which is way too much.

Yea, Manos was shot on a Bolex. Now there are many fun movies done with a Bolex over the years, this was not one of them.
Honorable mention:
Troll 2
Superman 4
Anything made by Ewe Boll
Eegah!
Big Gus What's The Fuss (Lloyd Kaufman has written volumes about how horrible this one was and I finally got it and my God, it was horrible.)

TC did indeed surprise me with a movie completely void of anything, Now, this next flick has been mentioned everywhere as the worst ever. I still think there are far FAR worse movies out there, some of them mentioned in this topic but to stay true to what Mr and Mrs Everybody and their dog say, here's "the worst movie ever". Enjoy
http://www.youtube.com/movie?v=kbQfqb2nGi8&feature=mv_sr
EDIT: In TC's defence, it must be said that I tricked him into watching this "masterpiece" http://www.youtube.com/movie/mesa-of-lost-women?feature=mv_e_rel_b. I do believe he had hired stand-ins to do the chatting when he was already sound asleep. It was Orgy Of The Dead however that caused him to promise to himself "damn! Someone WILL pay for this!"
Double Edit: Ok, I found the Turkey. It's arguable if it is the worst ever made, now with decades of turd making but it certainly is no Citizen Kane

I honestly didn't think Mesa of Lost Women was that bad. It had that B-movie quality which was cheesy and enjoyable and that soundtrack was unforgettable in many ways.
Orgy of the Dead though....yeah, I had to find a movie more boring than that as a "thank you" to you.

Poultrygeist I haven't seen but I couldn't agree more on the first bit! That is, if I'm not struggling to keep my finger off the Stop button. Some movies are so godforsakenly awful I can't say I enjoyed them, rather I forced myself through them just to be fully aware THAT was a terrible mistake. I will rewatch Plan 9 and Teenagers From Outer Space but never ever again will I watch Shark Attack 3 or SW Holiday Special.

The Incredible Bulk... I'm not gonna say anything about the movie other than its name and let people look up the trailer on youtube and have them die on their own. The thing is, it's supposed to be a parody, but it does SUCH a bad job and just overdoes it so much that it just becomes one giant horrible mess.

Deer Hunter....

I agree it's flawed, but it would have been good if the producer had done his job reining in the director, and cutting an hour of more off the movie. Michael Cimino was a prima donna and all his movies have the same problem to some extent.
Cimino is frequently criticized by colleagues and critics as vain, self-indulgent, egotistical, megalomaniacal and an enfant terrible.[9][68] . . .
In writing about his experience working on The Sicilian, producer Bruce McNall described Cimino as "one part artistic genius and one part infantile egomaniac."[72] In his book, Blade Runners, Deer Hunters and Blowing the Bloody Doors Off, producer Michael Deeley described his experience with Cimino on Deer Hunter a "travail",[73] adding "the only flaw I find in my Oscar [for The Deer Hunter] is that Cimino's name is also engraved on it."[74] Deeley went on to criticize Cimino further for his deceit and lack of professional respect: "Cimino was selfish. [...] Selfishness, in itself, is not necessarily a flaw in a director, unless it swells into ruthless self-indulgence combined with a total disregard for the terms in which the production has been set." . . .
"As I see it, Michael Cimino doesn't think in terms of dramatic values . . . The whole thing is just material for Cimino the visual artist to impose his personality on."[75]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Cimino#Criticisms
He also likes to invent facts for his biography lol

Good grief! Why did you have to remind me of the fathomless menace that is SW Ep 1? Not the worst movie but still one I actually got pretty annoyed for wasting money on.
Batman, however..... you and I need to have a friendly, perhaps even civilized chat about that one... you and I and my bat bomb.
Luckily for most people, since most people don't speak Norwegian or have any interest in Norwegian 70's social realistic drama, one true turkey is "Himmel og Helvete" (Heaven and Hell)... Seen it once, might even watch it again, one day in the far future, for the laughs...
An anti drug movie with "acting" so poorly executed it spins my head more than any drug could do. The acting is what saves it while the dialogues try to destroy this movie...
On the same theme, another true turd is "Reefer Madness".... One that more than warns against any use of any drug but one that also is so way over the top one has to think the writer and director did a tour de really-bad-dope while working on it.
