Can't Figure Out How To Run Iso/disc Via D-Fend Reloaded

I have two games: Carmen Sandiego Word Detective and Where In the USA is Carmen Sandiego (1996 edition). They don't run at all on Windows 7; they won't even install. Someone told me to use D-Fend reloaded, but I can't figure out how to make it work. At all. I looked at the FAQ, but I didn't understand the instructions. I need someone to take me step by step through this so I don't screw up.

I've been working on this for two days, and I'm in tears because I'm so frustrated. It shouldn't be this hard to install and run a game that's 16 years old. Please help me, anyone.

And that, dear friends, is why teaching people to use frontends instead of helping them actually learn DOSBox is not a good idea.

A solution here would be not using D-Fend but running plain DOSBox and mounting the ISO with the IMGMOUNT command. Start at the beginner's guide (http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showthread.php?t=14406) and then read up on IMGMOUNT (http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/IMGMOUNT#An_example_in_Windows). It looks more difficult than it actually is. :)
