Hello
For a year now, I have been uploading cutscenes, intros, etc. onto YouTube and recently I have been using DosBox to record PC game cutscenes. I have noticed that sometimes the resolution changes and when that occurs, another recording is created. A good example is Veil of Darkness. The resolution changes twice, so I end up with three video files. I have noticed that Abandonias YouTube page has the Veil of Darkness intro and its all in one resolution.
I would like to know how this is possible, so I can fix my videos.
Thanks in advance
You can just merge the three videos into one with an easy editing program like Windows movie maker.

I have tried a program to join them, but it would not because of the resolution difference. I will try Windows Movie Maker, but I am sure I will get the same result.

:omg: Would you look at that, it worked. Thank you very much.
I recommend Microsoft Expression Encoder (the free subset of Expression Studio):

It doesn't have editing effects like Movie Maker, but if you only want to cut and merge, add static images, etc., it's better than Movie Maker. The problem with the latter is that it gives you very little control over resolution, aspect ratio, etc.

I recorded Veil of Darkness and was not using the Dosbox recorder, I used Camstudio to record it while I had it windowed.

Resolution changed twice? Then try recording Reunion intro in DOSBox... I am definitely trying out this CamStudio. Thx, Darth...

I can't seem to record audio with CamStudio, it always reports some error when selecting audio from speakers. I found on the net that it is problem in Vista, but I tried it in Win7 and WinXP and still no luck.
Darth, did you experience any similar problems with CamStudio?

Yep, you need to turn on stereo mix and set that as your default device. Then select Record from Microphone. There are a few videos on Youtube showing how to do this.

If you don't have a microphone plugged in that is all it will record.
I have been thinking though, if you use Dosbox Config and you set the windowed resolution it shouldn't change during gameplay.

Nuh-uh. You're thinking about display resolution. The switch has to do with the internal resolution used by the game and I believe it actually occurs when graphic modes are switched.

Yes, it happens when game switches modes. It never occurred to me that I could fix resolution and force the game to work within the limits, like it did on monitors. Will try both that and CamStudio settings tonight. If nothing works, I suppose I could rip out the sound recorded in DOSBox and merge it with video recorded with CamStudio... But I think it shouldn't come to that.
Yep I think DOSBox sends for recording the raw input before scaling and so.
