:kosta: There's a great OLD text-only (no graphics) game called Enchanted Castle. In this game, you start out in a castle; you have to find a light source (a torch), and you either have to find food (you get hungry) or you have to finish the game before you starve; you have three objectives to beat the game. 1) Find and rescue the beautiful princess. 2) Find the priceless star diamond. 3) Destroy the castle while escaping. There are cool secret passages in the castle, as well as magic spells, and you find various items which you can use.
I already have this game; what I was wondering was 1) whether this game has been remade to include graphics (like Return to Zork was a remake of the text-only Zork: The Underground Empire) and/or 2) If someone could remake this game, while keeping the very detailed text descriptions and shortcut keys intact. If anybody has any info on this, please let me know. Thanks!
Here is a link to download this game, in case anybody wants to try it out or do the remake.

ok, through the power of google I have actually found this game for download at, of all places, the national federation for the blind's website.
EDIT:
I originaly had the link to game here but I removed it due to the fact that I do not know if the game is still being sold since I could not find anymore info about it. I highly doubt that it isn't abandonware since the days of the text adventure game being something profitable is long gone. But I decided it be best to cover myself.

They are all in this links, you don't need to upload them, I didn't delete it because we are talking about very old games, I think they are all abandonware, but it's difficult to find information about developers and publishers.

Download the games, look into the files, write an e-mail if there's an address given. Mostly you get a bounce message, then you browse a search engine to look if there is any newer information to gather, mostly not, and then you declare it abandoned.
Don't worry Luchsen, I'm working on it :ok:
(It's a long list and I need time)
These are my firsts results:
Adventure (aka Colossal Cave) (1977) by William Crowther & Don Woods

Adventure (aka Colossal Cave) (1977) by William Crowther & Don Woods

And [ON SITE]. Not going to AR because: old stuff = too bad?
Finally I checked them all
Most of them are tagged as shareware, but we are talking about full versions of games where registration brought no new benefits aside from the author's promise that he would notify registered owners of new version releases....so IMHO we can consider them all Abandonware or Freeware titles. :)

Hi. This is pczelda, I posted this thread 8 years ago asking about the game, if the update has or could be made, etc. I also see that nothing has been done to even add the base game to this site. Could someone tell me any update on this? Thanks!

Well, it seems it went forgotten. Amazingly those links you provided still works!!!
I can't find much info on the game. Only found this link (http://www.wurb.com/if/game/77). I posted new request topic (http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showthread.php?t=29760) to get the status of the game.
If the game was shareware and is now abandoned then it is ok for abandonia. IMO even that old freewares are for AB more than for AR.
Do you have any more info on the game? Why is the archive called ec3, is it really Enchanted Castle 3? Perhaps first two parts were written for machines older than PC. And can you write a review or something?
