I would like if we could turn this thread into a sort of helping ground for anyone who wants to play with Minecraft, and a place we can show off our creations in the game. For anyone wondering this isnt the Free version, you have to pay to get this version. Its not a lot of money, and in my opnion is well worth the effort.

Since I have been going on and on about this game for a bit now, I thought I should make a video of what I have been up to.

I've got a little castle and quarry I call home.

The quarry itself seemed quite dull, and I was basically just trying to get down to bedrock (the quarry is L-shaped, and about 40-50 blocks in length, 20-30 in width).

However, I found a massive cave system running through the quarry area (about 30 or so blocks down) which I spent a few hours dropping torches through.

My next task is to enlarge the cave system so I can easily find my way around.

At the moment, it's just too much of a mess. I did find plenty of gold and a little diamond though, which was good.

[edit] Oh, and I made a custom U6 Avatar avatar! No pics of that, since I can't remember how to get a third person view.

That is one very big pit, however is that Iron I see still stuck in the walls?

To see the a third person image I think it's F5.

Yeah, there was a little iron in the walls.

I decided to leave it, because I already had quite a lot (and I'm playing on peaceful, so don't need much).

I'm continuing to dig that quarry, I want to hit bedrock. Then I might extend it a bit... haven't decided yet.

Did you watch the Video I put up Fubb, the Alpha version has you actually building things, using tools to collect resources and such, not just places items. Also it has enemies, so there is and Easy, Normal, and Hard mode set up to the game.

Halindir has made a pretty awesome fortress with cool walkways and there's even a "secret" tunnel into the basement of my house :D

Occasionally, I have to restart this server, so it may not always be up (have some patience if it's down), but I'll soon migrate it to one that is always up. When I do that, I'll also add a Minecraft Alpha server.

No that damn spider got away from me. Though I did find a spawn point for some other spiders....and almost died three times trying to clear them out. I am digging where that other spider was to find out if there is another spawn point there.

Well to bring joy to the masses I am making an AB server right now. Just need to work out what info I need to give you guys so you can log in.

Only rule will be No Grieving Anyone or yee get Banned. And that means no wrecking other peoples buildings.

So far Monsters and PvP are turned off...I can turn them on though if we feel we want them.

Different kind of server I think AA, the old one wasn't from the Alpha game. Kipp had/has a new version of the old AB server up there.

Well the server is up and running, I just need to test if others can connect to it..they should be able to. But I am unsure of which IP address I will need to give to people so they can log in. If someone with Minecraft Alpha could please PM me so we could run a test we could have this up and running.

First one kinda looks like Roger Wilco (Space Quest), the second is possibly Sunny Bonds (Police Quest, although I thought he was blonde) or your forum avatar (can't recall the name though!).

Both correct, Bonds dies his hair blond at the end of the first game. He starts with black hair. I think I will try and do the over Space Quest games Rogers and see if I can do Police Quest 2s Sunny too. Will be a bit harder though.

I prefer going from my Main Base to my secondary base by tunnel instead of on the surface. AND I like my tunnels big and wide. :D

I dislike all the MP servers, all the worlds are pre made, you cant make anything and theres like a million people on them so you can't follow conversations at all! I want small servers!

Fubb, I'm sure you'd be welcome on the Good Old Games server. There's a thread about it on the GOG.com forums, and you need to post there to get on the whitelist (to allow you to actually mine/make things - we had a problem with griefers).

The server was down for a bit, but should be back up in the next week or two.

Hi peeps, we are running a MC server here at home. It has evil mobs though. :p Makes me use a LOT of torchlights and prevents me from digging my own mine. Cause I'm a horrible chicken... the others enjoy it though..

Minecraft is now out of beta and version 1.0!

And to celebrate, I've updated the Ultima Minecraft Texture Pack (v2)!

As before, it's a standard 16x16 texture pack, no modding required and works with the latest version of Minecraft.

The graphics are mainly taken from/inspired by Ultima 6 & 7, with a few others from the other games in the series.

I'm hoping that when the official modding support gets finished, there will be mods to make use of all the excess stuff you get (like redstone, which is massively common) and hopefully to get rid (or nerf) creepers.

If you don't have enough iron to make a railway to your desert outpost (or don't want to use it all), you could consider making a nether portal at your home and the outpost, then linking those on the nether side with rails (8x shorter).

That is a pretty good idea, but I first need to make some Nether fortresses as well. And that railway would be covered to protect me from the evil that is the Nether, with glass so I could still see it.
