Derp... Oh hai look who it is, its me again, the girl who sucks at using computers lol.

Okay here's the dealeo. So I used CamStudio to record me drawing on the computer. I usually make it in small increments, like 50 min for each part but today whilst I was shading my picture I went to about an hour and a half. Usually I don't have a problem with that but today when I went to save it an error occurred and now my file is corrupt and unusable. (The video file not my art file)

Other info: The video size is 2.46 Gb Uncompressed.

I have tried repairing it (I have the original file as backup still) in DivxRepair, a message comes up that says "Warning:VirtualDub has reconstructed the following index for this file, but you have not specified rekeying in the extended open options dialog. Seeking in this file may be slow." Then it continues with its repair process. A log opens saying all Keys appear good or something but the file is still not fixed :\

I've tried reading up on things and tried using various repair programs but I'm either doing it wrong or my video is a goner :\ Any help?

i think the best help may be from a forum that specializes in such thing, such as the product its own forum, or a forum for people who do similar things such as drawing, as opposed to a forum that is mostly set up for people playing games on an operating system that was big 25 to 15 years ago. I hope this sounds slightly logical

ok in case of the broken keyframe.

after you've repaired the avi you have to "re-derive keyframe flags" and save them to the avi.

open virtual dub and in the open video file dialog at the bottom you have to check the option "Ask for extended options after this dialog".

so b4 the file is actually loaded in virtual dub you get extended options where you can "re-derive keyframe flags". Check same-named option. Then it could take some time until the file is openend as virtual dub is redirecting the keyframes.

When this act is completed simply save the avi as a "Direct stream copy". If virtual dub crashs during this operation then it has probably something to do with your video codecs. In this case try a program called "Avi Preview".
