I currently have three games which, based on Abandoina's oldwarez list and the forum's Requested Games thread, qualify as abandonware:

SimIsle (http://www.mobygames.com/game/simisle-missions-in-the-rainforest) (ISO, 265MB; Contains Macintosh, Windows, and MS-DOS versions)
The Island of Dr. Brain (http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/224/Island+of+Dr.+Brain%2C+The.html) (ISO, 21.6MB; Features full voice-overs for Dr. Brain)
SimTower (http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/341/SimTower+-+The+Vertical+Empire.html) (ISO, 164MB)

I would offer my ISO for The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain (http://www.mobygames.com/game/lost-mind-of-dr-brain), but according to this (http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showpost.php?p=292219&postcount=15), the game is not abandonware until next year due to ESA protection.

Ah, I didn't know that about the oldwarez list, Paco. Also, thanks for making clear the status of The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain. Here's the stats on my image:

ISOs go to the ISO Cellar (http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/forumdisplay.php?f=43). This is done by uploading the cd image to a file-sharing site and posting the link in the Requests (http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showthread.php?t=12957&page=78) thread. Then a new thread for it will be created under the respective letter. :)

Despite the inability to edit the title of your own threads, I'm going to keep my new offers under the same thread.

With the above in mind, I'd like to offer a review for The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain that I wrote. It includes the main part of the review in addition to some game notes and operating system compatibility. Also, I did take 11 screenshots from within the game that I'm offering with the review. However, I don't know if I can even offer a review for The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain since it is only available in the ISO Cellar...

We aren't able to host 600 MB, too large of a file. We limit ourselves to 150 MB to reduce bandiwdth costs. And with this in mind, reviewing the game might be pointless, since it will not be added with such a big archive.

Paco

You can ask us to change the Thread-Title.

Review and Screenshots are only of use if we have a Archive (no ISO) about 150 MB to be put on Site.. The Game in ISO CELLAR is too big.

You have to remove stuff from ISO to make it smaller.

Edit: duh TA was faster. -.-

I've managed to remove all the unnecessary data from the ISO image for The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain and compressed the resulting ISO image using 7-Zip. The final, compressed filesize is 80.5MB. Would that be sufficient for it to be accepted?

EDIT: I forgot to state that I tested the modified ISO and it does work.

Paco

80 MB is below the Limit so that would be ok, but its must be in zip-Format or AB wouldnt accept it.

Can you also make a pre-installed Archive instead of a ISO?

removed ISO from Thread-Title. hope its better now?

Unfortunately, The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain reads directly from the CD-ROM, so users will still need to install the game so that they can save their games. Fortunately, I found that by simply copying the contents of The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain CD-ROM to a folder, it can be run without the CD! When compressed using the conventional ZIP file format, said folder's size is 110MB - and that's with all the video and audio intact! As I also intend to upload a review for The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain (complete with in-game screenshots per Abandonia regulations), I'll be sure to include the installation and play instructions in the review.

EDIT: Thanks for fixing the thread title for this thread, Paco! Now I can offer more than just ISOs!

After tinkering around with my copy of the CD version of SimIsle, I figured out how to make it run without the CD. As such, the zipped version of this special CD-based version of SimIsle is about 95.2MB and runs as though it was running from the original CD-ROM.

Also, so reviewers and other people know how to properly mount this game, here are the steps needed to mount the game in DOSBOX (the steps assume you copied the folder contained within the zip file directly to your C drive):

mount d: c:/simisle/cd
mount c: c:/simisle

Since I've gotten permission from both The Fifth Horseman and Emurli, I've been working on converting games which Ermuli has posted on the ISO Cellar so they no longer need their respective CDs. So far, I've been able to convert the following games:

Metaltech: Earthsiege (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/metaltech-earthsiege) (includes expansion; 32.3MB; uses ZIP compression)

Air Bucks (http://www.mobygames.com/game/air-bucks) (1.16MB; uses ZIP compression)

Army Men: Air Tactics (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/army-men-air-tactics) (in-game music and cinematics ripped; 136MB; uses RAR compression)

If I could get approval to upload these to the Abandonia FTP, I'd really appreciate it! Also, please ensure Ermuli, not me, gets full credit for the original uploads for the above-mentioned games.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the following game, which is also ready to be approved for upload and should also be accredited to Ermuli instead of me:

Uprising: Join or Die (http://www.mobygames.com/game/uprising-join-or-die) (in-game cinematics ripped; 27.9MB; uses ZIP compression)

3. on other note: AB cannot handle rar so the archive must be in zip-Format.I can easily address all three issues, so I will just re-upload the screenshots archive for Frogger (3D) in ZIP format.

EDIT: Disregard my previous edit...the FTP instructions (http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showpost.php?p=353038&postcount=1) regarding the game archive itself is rather confusing. However, the "no RAR compression for game archives" rule is going to be a bit of an issue since most of the games need RAR compression in order to stay under the upload limit...

if you upload it in rar or zip dont matter as long the format is png and not bmp.

According to the FTP instructions (http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showpost.php?p=353038&postcount=1), RAR is an acceptable format for game, screenshot, and boxshot archives.

For FTP that is true, but for Games onsite it must be in zip format. Same for possible Extras bundled. For Details you should ask Fifth for that matter.
