Its on PAX right now.

They had pictures http://blog.pikimal.com/geek/2010/09/03/piki-at-pax-the-duke-he-has-returned/

They made an announcement http://kotaku.com/5628894/its-official-duke-nukem-forever-coming-from-gearbox-software

And people actually PLAYED THE FRICKING GAME http://kotaku.com/5629655/your-first-look-at-duke-nukem-forever-in-action

I remember following the Duke Nukem Forever hype ever since I heard about it, which was around 1998. To see that its actually gonna be released is...surreal. It took years for 3D Realms to accomplish some pics and video made of non-gameplay material. Then Gearbox took the scraps and....here it is.

Satan is shivering. Temperature in Hell is -1 degrees Celsius and still falling.

Also, this will serve as evidence pigs do fly. :D

It would be unwise to waste the name with more than a decade's worth of publicity behind it. They'll just label a new project as DNF now and profit.

From what I've seen of the in-game action, it's very similar to that leaked video from a while back.

Seems like DNF wasn't too far from being finished, and Gearbox are just filling in the gaps and doing QA.

That's just speculation though, and I'll have to wait and see... but it sure will be strange when it is released.

At this rate, we'll actually see "MIRRORS a game from EDGE" published one day (you wish).

PS. Capitalization as per the original. I hope you'll catch on to the joke.

From what I was reading about it DFN was close to finish on multiple occasions, but then they decided to make it for better graphics (Here it got a bit fuzzy one side said that everyone wanted this, the other that only the producers did and the developers wanted the game done now). So more than likely the Gearbox is just going in and cleaning up then getting the game out there. Which might be a good thing, or if not done well good lead to a game that feels buggy and unfinished.

On another note....WHOOOOOOOOOOOO YEAAAAAHAHHHHHHH DFN IS COMING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing. That's like... the 90's are going to be revived again. Pretty much different scene with games selection today than back then. DNF would be as fitting now as an old but mighty dinosaur from ages long past among the humans of today, if you get my meaning. I say "yiehhaa" to that :OK:

People expect too much after all these years, it's likely that we'll see disappointment, disappointment everywhere :perv:

possible, perhaps even high-likely ;) but I'd like to give things a chance. But seen much shit which came out in the last years. Most products aren't really inventive any more.

May it be movies, music, games, cars, whatever. Perhaps I've seen too much so new things don't catch me anymore.

Maybe one of the reasons I check in Abandonia from time to time ;)

Seen some youtube vids from some exhibition (E3?) where ppl played this game. Dunno what to think about it yet. I guess it's better that I don't expect anything at all. Then I can't get disappointed at the end.

This may be a cheap joke, and I'm not up on the production history of the game, but DNF is also a racing abbreviation for "Did Not Finish". I don't know if that works as a joke, but I thought it was a little funny.

"Dnf" the sound the dukes head makes when getting kicked in by any shooter. :OK:
