View Full Version : Realistic Strategy Games
Im thinking games similar to TacOps 4 or something so i can get my fill of awesome deadly realistic sending-my-troops-to-their-death's
know any?
I kinda want World War 1 games that feature the war on a grand scale (you get a map of Europe) but is challenging, or maybe a Cold War one, kinda like world in conflict but more realistic :D

Defcon from Introversion is a Cold War game that pops in my head. It's meant to simulate the cold detachment of plotting nuclear destruction from a control panel. It's kind of like if Global Thermonuclear War from the movie Wargames were real life.
Otherwise, I can only think of the Total War games, but they're not modern. And there are SSI games that I never played.
I got Defcon :D
Theatre of war looks good, and Battlefront games are awesome though i've only played Combat Mission: Shockforce: Marines
Thought the Shockforce: NATO game coming out is goona be watched by me, I get to command Canadians! ITS ABOUT TIME we got some credit!

Realistic games, huh?
Field Ops (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/fieldops/index.html?tag=result%3Btitle%3B0)
Gary Grigsby's games (http://www.gamespot.com/search.html?qs=gary+grigsby&om_act=convert&om_clk=gssearch) or Heart of Iron which I'm sure you've already tried.
But I guess you're looking for something more like Air Assault Taskforce, or maybe some of Tiller's games, like War Over the Mideast (http://www.hpssims.com/pages/products/ModAir/WOME/wome.html) or The Mexican American War (http://www.armchairgeneral.com/the-mexican-american-war-pc-game-review.htm)
But then again except one of Gary Grigsby's games, I haven't tried any of those.
If you insist on WWI there's AGEOD's World War One (http://shopus.ageod.com/fiche.html?REF=713578) and 1914: the Great War (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/1914thegreatwar/index.html?tag=result%3Btitle%3B0)
