Holy.... is that the usual kinda weather you have there? That looks like it could cause some damage or at least minor discomfort!

We don't get weather like that every day, but in the spring it's fairly common at least somewhere in the state. There's a high risk of severe weather (high winds, big hail, and/or tornadoes) across a good portion of Oklahoma later today, in fact.

I actually love this kind of weather; it's fascinating. It can be dangerous, though, as well as expensive. The storm in the video shattered three storm windows on the north side of our house, cracked the windshields of both of our vehicles, made many small dents in both vehicles, and damaged our roof to the extent that it needs to be replaced. In fact, everyone in our neighborhood needs a new roof now. Roofing contractors and insurance adjusters will be very busy here in the next few weeks.

Gotta love hail, always makes me think there is a little man hiding in the clouds dumping bucket up bucket of rocks out.

How come you didn't put blankets or something like that on your car to cushion the fall?

Would you go out in that weather, to put cushions on a car? :whistling:

Wow, that is . . . scary. :omg: And I complain because the weather in the UK is slightly warmer than I'd like right now. I've never even seen hail like that before.

How did you stand at the door for nearly five minutes wearing nothing but a towel, in that sort of weather? Are you mad? Are you a mad person?

No, I'm not mad. The wind was blowing from the north, and my front door faces south. There's a porch with about a five-foot overhang, so I wasn't going to get smacked by anything. There was a brief time (when it became hard to distinguish the houses on the other side of the street) when I wondered whether there might be a small tornado hidden in the storm, and that was a bit scary, but I wasn't in any real danger. That being said, I definitely wasn't going to walk around in that! Putting blankets on the cars would've been a good idea if I'd done it ahead of time, though.
