This thread is for the arrangement of any of the id Tech 1 games and these can be designated as the the following titles:

Doom
Doom 2
Final Doom
Heretic
Hexen

To be able to play these games in a multiplayer capacity, I recommend the downloading the latest version of ZDaemon (http://www.zdaemon.org) and then configuring it to meet your needs. Unfortunately, Strife is unable to run with this program due to coding problems. As a whole, you will need to own working copies of any of the list above, and as a result, you will need to copy the IWAD files contained within these games over to the ZDaemon/wads directory. After this, create an account by using a username not already taken, enter in your desired password and then "New Account". With this done, you should be able to engage in a no-holds-barred conflict of words and wits followed by death at the smoking end of a boomstick.

Note: Strife is unable to run in ZDaemon, sorry if that disappoints anyone, still, if you don't own any of the listed titles, you can always enjoy fighting with Doom Shareware.

Hi, Prof,
After your detailed instructions I created my account in
ZDaemon for Doom 2.
This way YOU help me to gaming with many friends in BG and the world.

My deepest bow and respect..

The only problem is, how to create my own place in this site and play with my team, not some hooligans enters and starting DM without invitation..

Please excuse me in advance for any inconveniences this may cause YOU.

You could just use Hamachi like the rest of us... People won't crash yr LAN-Party then.
Then you just need the game, a Dos Emulator (that supports networking) and you're set.

Steamworks has these games running online. And Strife.
Though, you'd be better off playing Deus Ex, really.
