Anyone remember a RTS Civil War game from early 1990s called "The Blue and the Gray"? It had both strategic and miniature battle elements, and I think it even let you personalize units.

I can't seem to find anything about it anywhere, but I clearly remember playing it. Seriously, I didn't just imaging those hours spent in the basement restoring the Union.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's it. I think I still have the disc for it somewhere, but don't have a 3.5" drive anymore.

I got this as original in a compilation called The Great Civil War. It contains:

-Civil War Generals 2 - Grant, Lee, Sherman (CD1)
-The Blue And The Gray ; Robert E. Lee - Civil War General (CD2)

Status?

I got mine for Christmas, probably in '93 or '94. I dug through all my old stuff and found the book for it, but no discs. I've got a call in to my folks for it though, it could still be in the attic.

I actually own a boxed copy of this game yet I wonder how it plays as I haven't actually gotten around to installing it. I do know I own a copy of it though.

well i couldn't find any buy links for the blue and the gray, neither on the maker's page (http://www.edwardgrabowski.com/games.htm), then i didn't find any buy links for civil war generals neither

civil war generals 2 have some website (http://www.cwg2enhanced.com/) (which is most probably not official anyways) without any buy links as well

and both impressions games and sierra are not under protection anymore
so it looks good to me

I just realised that the maker of the game was the same person who made Grand Prix Manager II, how the world goes full circle.

Is that a good or bad thing?

I did notice that D-Day: The Beginning of the End (which is on this site) was made by the same guy and actually looks pretty similar.

If anyone wishes to, I've uploaded this game so all it needs now is a review. I'm sure that anyone who is a fan of this game will jump at the chance.
