I played this game in its time and im my oppinion it doesnt deserve a second chance. Poor graphics and gameplay. There is a little trick, i remember: If a sewer is in your way and dont want to enter on it, just move and attack at the same time and you overpass it. there were another tricks but i was so young i dont remember...

(Sorry 4 my grammar)

Different platform, but it's the same game the Angry Video Game Nerd was angry about (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjUz8IT0CYg). :D

Yes, I saw that review. He's talking about the original NES version which is great game indeed. It's surely not perfect, but it is unclear to me why he hates the game that much... But after all, he is angry nerd :)

Actually, you can use the same tehnique to go THROUGH the enemy bullets and lasers... In one situation, this is the only way to successfully deal with the situation and finish the game... which is surely not good...

The game would be best described as a scrolling action-platformer

Wait, what? No! That description indicates zero elements of adventure.

I know this is old Marko, just wanted to point out that AVGN is just a character and in no way represents Rolfe's actual thoughts of a game. Sometimes he reviews games that are pretty good but with elements that make you mad, I know I sure got mad at this game on the NES when I played it, didn't stop me liking it though. Of course that is no reason for you to like his reviews if you don't, nothing wrong with not liking them.

Has anyone EVER beat this game? I need to give it another try now that I'm older. I still don't know if I have it in me though!

Nope, and noone ever will. I bought and played this in the day, I still have my original copy, but you eventually reach a point where they didn't convert it properly in the pc version. It's in a sewer where the jump is impossible to do. Ever. You can not finish this game on pc.

Which sewers? Because if you mean those on level one then I'm sure you can simply go thru it.

I'm willing to give it a try and accept this challenge if that's the case. :p

Edit: well I tried the game and once again the review is very deceiving. This is not really a port but an adaptation of the same game. It doesn't feel nor play like the original at all...

Here's the info on it. I'm sure I originally saw it on youtube, but this is all I can find right now.

I remembered it clear as when I first saw it, it was that exact place where my game ended for me as the jump is impossible, and back in ~1990 I didn't know any cheat codes to get past that place. I actually thought at first it was an intentional road block that you wern't supposed to get past, so I ended up playing the game several times more looking for any alternative route. Nope, game over. So I packed it all up back in its box never to see the light of day again and moved onto other games and felt sad about actually buying this game. Actually the biggest kicker was it was a birthday present and I was super excited to get it. Ah well, also pretty much marked the end of any significant interest I also had in the tmnt universe.

Hummm... Seems to be a well documented bug. I don't see what I could do here without cheating.

I was basing my optimism on the fact that the port would look like the NES version. After all, PCs always been superior to consoles.

I guess I was wrong. Better get a NES emulator and play the NES version. It's a great game. :)

Dear god.. a childhood favourite.

I managed to clear this game without knowing cheats. No, I'm not going to pretend I cleared that stupid jump.

My mates and I did however, find a place that level glitched out and you could fall through the world. Depending where you went from there.. you would either die for no reason or start on the next level :p
