Seriously. I know it it exists. My dad bought a CD drive for the computer c1994 or so and with it came TWO games.. One of them was Ultma Underworld and the other was Wing Commander II.

Years later, I find WCII on this very site. Sadly, it lacks the one thing that would make it a truly nostalgic experience: speech. I loved that damn speech aspect of the game so much, but I had to forgo it because the game ran so sloooowww. What I wouldn't give for some decent actors proclaiming "They're attacking us, Sir!" while I killed me some fur balls.

Now that I have a computer that can actually run it, I can't find the speech add-on anywhere! Maybe I'm looking in all the wrong places, but still! This, coupled with a good joystick would kick all sorts of ass...

Wing Commander 2 has an additional speech pack for the Dos version.
Google is your friend.

Or dig a bit @ http://www.wcnews.com/links.shtml

[Edit]
If the speech pack works with the AB version, no idea, I have the original game ...... :)

It does, and WC2 has only speech in the intro, and during flight. No speech for the cutscenes. Never seen a version which had.

Indeed so, and that's the version I remember, good sir.

Of course, what I ain't finding is the speech pack itself. I've ran into the Deluxe version via BitTorrent that has the speech pack, but I'm stuck with dial-up. That makes this and 90% of the internet almost impossible for me.
