It is easy to get this from any abandonware site, but anyhow i think it would be nice to review this old game and put it on here.....i think of reviewing it myself eh eh eh?

The thing is, it's actually not abandonware. US$15 from the 3D Realms store:

technically then those other abandonware sites should be taking it down - am i right on that point ?

If that was the case 1602 AD could be put up but it is still sold from 2 or 3 sites therefore its not abandonware yet.

There is case in which some titles were Abadonware before then been taken back to not Abadonware later on. First example I can remember on the top of my head would be Conquest of the New World.

If they never removed them from their sites, then it's their own business. But they are running a very high risk since those special tittles have become warez now.

Abadonnia have a very strick rule when it comes to non Abadonware title, so you can expect it not to be put on the site until the title become Abadonware again.

Simply mentioning the matter to the webmasters of the other sites you are talking about could be an easy solution and could prevent those sites problems in the long run.

thanks eagle of fire i did that earlier this year with one abandonware site and they didnt bother to respond (wont be naming it it was only a small one) game is still there but thats their problem. Still you should be prepared to pay for games if they are still for sale if you want em bad - on the other hand one would expect that 7 year old games priced at $10 US aint going to sell to many copies - the most i would pay for a game from 1997 or 1998 would be 2 for $5.

Then they would have to be good titles - otherwise i would not bother buying or playing it.

yes they can
being abandonware is no official status.....

they are still illegal to download and they are still the games of the people who made it.

Oh well search the forum for details.

I don't think it's ever been abandoned -- Apogee/3D Realms and id Software have both been really good at keeping most of their old catalogue available.

and its good to see they are keeping those games available to as saleable games. More should do it.

Can anyone remember a First Person Shooter game in which you started off outside on a ledge and you jumped off, you had to fight Nazis (no not Wolfenstien) but sometimes when you aimed at them they would put there hands up to surrender and if you turned away they either stayed surrendering or pulled out there gun again and started to shoot you (fantastic for early games I must say, they don't even give AI the option to surrender in modern games.)

The graphics resembled that of a most FPS's of the time, looked like the DOOM engine.

Also when you went to quit, it would should a picture of a different execution for your character (such as lethal injection or the electric chair.)

I remember this game came with our first computer (1997/8/9) so I can't expect it was wide known.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

There were Nazis in it?!
Why it is then called Rise of the Triads? :bleh:
There was a funny mp mode.

The enemies were going to be Nazis in the original concept of the game, so there's a certain "Nazi" quality to some of the uniforms.

what's with those platforms and walls shooting fire balls and all....

i always wondered who lives in a place like that :-D with moving platforms, countless dangers as well as bouncy things on the path etc.

multiplayer has plenty types of games. i liked the flowing body parts effect back then and the frazes spoken out by enemies and "team" members.

Memorable phraze: "Here, catch!" and he throws you a grenade.

Heh, this would be neither the only nor the first game with a somewhat illogical setting :P

Like the game, Redcoat-Mic, don't I know you from somewhere? :)
If so, ever thought of going back?

The game is actually not about Nazis, you know. It's about this military organization on an island, and a team of US special forces who get stranded on it.

I share Data's opinion, except for the "get lost" part.
If all newbies just left after first time they confuse something, we wouldn't have any becoming new regulars. ^_^

I think this game has already be spoken but I want to open a topic because I was reading about "Wolfestein 3d" and I think this fps game deserve a shot too. I didn't find it in your database so I suggest to add it (it was an apogee game and I don't think it is sold anymore)

Thank you
