Got it on cd. I think it's a bit too big to add to the site, though... a full cd's ISO.

Fear not - you are NOT alone. As a matter of fact, I was here on the forums to post a request for it myself. I have a copy of the Splat Pack CD, but need the original Carmageddon to be able to use it. If the Splat Pack were considered abandonware, I would be happy to help in whatever way I can, but it's useless without the original.

Hmmm... I'll see how big it is when I rip it. If it's not too big and confirmed to be abandonware, it can be added :ok:

Carmageddon 2 was pretty fun. It was the only game that ever made me dizzy.

Dizzy, nauseous and seasick... I'd say every game from Halflife on (or Blood and consorts on 3D accelerating video cards) when seeing it being played. And MDK when playing it myself. Man, that thing got me sick

It was created by Interplay, which means ESA.

Go check out a thread about the ESA, or click on a No-Go button and follow the informational links if you don't know who they are.

Or just use the oldwarez list on the main page, and buy the game. Much simpler. :bleh:

I think the game would be too big for abandonia anyways, so go spend a couple of bucks on this game (you know you want to :))

Mature? That doesn't matter, this site has lots of Mature games.

And the oldwarez list won't help if he doesn't know what it means for a game to be protected in the first place.

If it's still sold (which it is) then it's a whole different idea.
P.S. It's not too big for Abandonia, about 40 meg for the version I have.

yeah it was at HOTU and it was like a 32 meg version. PS: I asked the guy at EB Games and he said it was discontinued and you would only find it if there is a pre-owned copy.

If you had read Tom's post, you'd know that the game is in fact still sold (http://starvector.com/cgi/lp.cgi?609991204+ca0320.html), regardless of what The Guy At EB Games says.

Just to make something absolutely clear:

Someone working in a local videogames shop is not an expert on game statuses. They only know what their shop stock - and most of them don't know anything on games older than 5 years.

If you work in a games shop, it means that you know how to operate a cash-register and lock the shop for the night. It doesn't make you an expert.

Claiming that a game is abandoned because "the clerk told me so" is not acceptable. There is a lot of research involved in determining the status for a game, and more often than not - this status change in the blink of an eye.

No ticket though, yet :ok:
No crashes also... Hmmm
Could be i'm a lousy driver after all

But the game if fun, both addons and Carmagedon II.

This would be good but a quick check of the forums has the expansion protected until 2013 would imagaine the game itself is also protected till close to that.

Stainless Games owns the rights to the Carmageddon series now (ESA subsidiary, 10 years protection), and they don't really care if it's distributed or not: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/07/25/carmageddon-reincarnation-preview/

Therefore, even if the game's ESA protection expired, the game would still violate Abandonia's Definition of Abandonware (http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showpost.php?p=340837&postcount=2).

<censored> this! I was so looking forward to playing Carmageddon... :sucks:

EDIT: Professor Oak pointed out this additional Amazon.com seller: http://www.amazon.com/Carmageddon-Racing-Game-Chemically-Inbalanced/dp/B0050VEBS6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&m=A1FVJNIK8SSHOX&s=videogames&qid=1324244109&sr=1-2

It's a little late to be announcing this, but Carmageddon, in addition to its Splat Pack expansion, are now sold on GOG.com (http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/carmageddon_max_pack). Ergo...
