Is this game ever going to be up? And does anyone know a download link, this game is incredibly hard to find.
Thanks.

I thought the Wizardry games were still sold...
Anyone have more information about the game? Is it abandonware?
Chromanin

Didn't Sir-Tech and interplay die out?
Sir-Tech's site hasn't been updated in about a year, and the Interplay site has been down for some time.
FreeFreddy

Well, on SirTechs official site there is only Wizadry 8-link to that game's site, but no traces of either Wizardry 6 or Wizardry 7. Then I must mention that I've seen on many abandonware sites Wizardry 6 available for download.
Chromanin

I don't know where you're looking, but I've been unable to find any download at all.
Ah no, I did found one, but that version was in French (sorry for being picky).
Would you want to PM me a link to a link?
FreeFreddy
23-05-2004, 04:45 PM
Try this site: http://gamesweb.wz.cz/rpg.html. But if you don't use an 486DX2 or slower, better run the game in DosBox, beacause it won't be starting on new machines. But I'm still not sure if the game has been abandoned.
Chromanin
23-05-2004, 05:03 PM
I have bought a 486DX2 especially for this :D.
However, that version is the french version I stumbled up yesterday. Any idea where I can find an english version?
FreeFreddy
23-05-2004, 05:06 PM
Lol, an error during typing :D . Try now http://gamesweb.wz.cz/rpg.html.
But this is a German version, sorry I can't give you more a link for English version, it was during my nightly searches for abandonware that I found Wizardry 6 on many locations, and find them now would be somewhat time-consuming for me (I'm not a profi in searching). If you want to search, just search in google.de, but that could take some time.
Chromanin
23-05-2004, 05:24 PM
Aw yes, German version, sorry.
No, I tried playing that one, but I don't understand a thing of German that technical.
I have searched about 10 pages of yahoo, google, and altavista on both "Wizardry 6" and "Bane of the cosmic forge" without any luck :(.
Tom Henrik
23-05-2004, 05:32 PM
I am too kind....
I'll help you, but as I am not certain wether or not it is abandonware, I can't promise much....
Ths smurf strikes again!
Tom Henrik
23-05-2004, 05:50 PM
If you look at the site below you will see that the game is still being sold :(

But seeing how you really wants this game, and how all the other abandonware sites I have been on are giving it out for free...
Try this link :P

No problem, pal.
Quite ironic actually... The English sites had the spanish version....
And that Spanish site had the English version :)

hey people,
just wondering where i could find Wizardry 6: Bane of The Cosmic Forge, it isn't on the site and it's hard to find on the net without having to buy thw whole box. Thanks in advance!

Well the reason its not on this site, is cause it's probabally nor abandonware, and no one on this site should be telling you where to download a free "warez" of it. But by all means, ask a VIP, It's not my place to say yes or no to anything, but im just saying what I think they'd say :D
Borodin
19-02-2005, 09:35 PM
And hopefully, you're directing him to a VIP doesn't count as using the forum to encourage pirate warez.
MrBackAlleySka
20-02-2005, 12:10 AM
LOL never. My directing him to a VIP is so he dosen't feel dejected by someone who has no rank or sayso in the forum, me. Just tellin' him what he'd hear from them. (A resounding NO if he wanted "W words") cause I know it's zero tolerance against illegal stuff here. I wasn't gonnta tell him NOT to ask a VIP, cause I make no rules or sayso here hehe. I'm pro abandoned, anti-illegal when it comes to games.

Why not Wizardry VI? You have to download the seventh chapter, i think that the sixth would be a great add even because it's very rare.
Good hunt! :ok:

Speaking of this, I recently purchased the Ultimate Wizardry collection thing. Does anyone know the specific legalities of the Wizardry games? I assume 7 is abandonware, but are the first 6?
Hell, should I just iso it up, remove the trailers and upload it (and on that note, would Abandonia accept it? :P)?

Now that my original 3.5"-disks have died, I'm desperately looking for a way to get my hands back on it. Furthermore, your Oldware list tells that this game is officially abandoned, so, please MTV, pimp... - doh, wrong board :-)
Oh, BTW, You already have Wiz 7 on the site, and you can even import characters from Wiz 6 (Bane) into 7, a fully logical step since both storylines mesh together and are brought to a conclusion with Wiz 8...

I'm proud owner of the original, but my disks have stopped working (no wonder, they're getting close to 18 years) and I'm itching for my next Wiz 6/7/8 run-through.
Anyone know where to get a copy? I tried mailing Sir-Tech, but since the company is extinct, there's no chance in hell that I can get my disks replaced by them... *sniff*

Wizardry VII is apparently abandonware. Same probably applies to VI, not sure about VIII.

I remember this one being recommended by 'PowerPlay'. I never played it though, since I didn't have a PC at this time. The Wizadry series was a great one and so it would be - in my opinion - a great addition to the site. It's abandonware, so write a review and submit the game unless noone else has done it yet...
Falcoix, you're an eager beaver. I wish I'd have the time to do the same... nothing better than working for ones passion, right?

Was I supposed to include this with the upload? Or is it just in the queue somewhere and someone will review it and post it?
I am happy to take a stab at a review, but it's been a good 10 years or so since I've played the game... so I may be a bit rusty. :)

After this loser calling himself "David86" went out of his way to make a flame bating post that has gone un noticed for months. I gave up on any mature staff here & responded.
http://www.abandonia.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13083
This sneaky loser then had the nerve to edit his own response to hide his shame & to look less offensive, as well as lock the topic to "prevent flaming" which is what he started. No matter if you believe my own posts are exceptionable or not, such posts from a moderator are truly unexceptionally. But editing & hiding the shame in his post, he no doubt proves his wrong doing.
So I decided to give this forum enough respect for a last ditch effort. Bringing attention to this hypocritical child. But if the staff here still allows him to make fools of all of you, I can give you all no hope or respect.

that he edited his offensive post is one thing but calling us losers cause we dont write a review is childy from you, "MATURE ONE"
its not our obligation and we have lifes too (you know..work.. sun.. oxygen..girls, etc). write it for yourself if you dare to call people who dont write it losers. i personaly would prevent you from getting the game from abandonia if it was in my powers

[DENIED] :P
You walked in acting like an utter prick and are surprised a moderator reacted negatively to you (and in a way that is actually more humorous than offensive)? Learn some manners yourself before you expect them from others.
After this loser calling himself "David86" went out of his way to make a flame bating post that has gone un noticed for months. I gave up on any mature staff here & responded.[/b]
"What are you people waiting for ? Your balls to drop ?" is not a proper nor mature way of adressing anyone. Furthermore, it was your original post (http://www.abandonia.com/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=76&t=13083&hl=&view=findpost&p=302223) that was the baiting one, not David's.
This sneaky loser then had the nerve to edit his own response to hide his shame & to look less offensive, as well as lock the topic to "prevent flaming" which is what he started. Actually, I've checked the edit logs and it's clear David did not edit his post.

I would like to contribute "Wizardry 6: Bane of the Cosmic Forge" to this site, since it is my all time favorite RPG. Game even.
I guess everybody at least heard of the Wizardry series, the grandmother of RPGs. It is abandonware now and imho it should be here for peeps to download.

Hah, being the nerd I am, I've always fantasized about being a critic on this site. Now if only I was ever aware of the "needing reviews" forum, before now. :P
I'd be happy to write the review, provided I have the ample week or two I'll need to finish the game, or at least get close to that. Finding the game online and, failing that, resorting to that thing people used to do, this strange "buying" ritual I've heard of in the past, should be easy enough.
Edit: As it turns out, I don't have permission to post a topic in the Offers section. An open letter to any one with the power to fix that; Please do so. I will give you a hug.

Don't worry too much about that. You can create a thread there when you'll upload the review to the FTP. Right now we're testing things after restructuring the forum a bit. It might be some problems with permissions.
