I love these games back then, because somewhat of the freedom u actually had in an rpg just for those days, how brilliantly the game was made, and so easily modified with mappers and stuff for your advantages. lots of ways to finish the game in a good or bad way, or how to screw up and stuff.............game does bring back memories. Gotta love these two games, to bad Interplay went bankrupt and sold out, eh and to bad these files around a whopping 900 mb i believe or 2 gbs or 1.5 gbs together...to big to fit on site even if abandonware eh?

I love playing this game from my awesome two cd set i got from some store one time =D gahahaha, Chosen one, did you get the geck
?

its definetly not abandonware as they are being sold in a 3 pack with fallout tactics. the games are a lot of fun and they beat a lot of other modern rpg's (including final fantasy) due to the fact this offers more freedom and storyline than any other rpg :)

Maybe they are not abandonware, but I think in most countries you can get them quite cheap. In Hungary for example you can get Fallout 2 for 4 Euros.

Some Pc magazines had them too as full versions a few years ago, that was even cheaper.

yea i got fallout tactics too, but tactics seemed to be a dissapointment

I love tactics much more then the Fallout RPGs. Maybe I am spoiled by Baldur's Gate but after that game I never liked other RPG as much.

JJXB

tactics was ok but the rpg's were better.

Havell

I have all three Fallout games but I haven't got round to playing tactics yet, I have played the RPGs and Fallout 2 is the better one.

Fallout rocks :) Just got addicted to chems though, as I used them to boost my stats back up after they went down. Scar costed me 4 points of perception and intelligence and 5 to charisma, and can't seem to get it back up any other way than with chems :not_ok:

Havell
01-01-2005, 03:10 PM
Is there any way to go "cold turkey" with chems? i.e. can you not take any for a long time and suffer the bad effects for all this time and then your addiction will slowly go away.

Borodin

Yes, the side effects of drugs taken in those games will fade with time. I believe the amount of time depends upon the drug, though. You might check around the Web for a list.

It also depends on your own methabolism. The higher that is the quicker you kick the habbit.

JJXB

fallout 2 had some funny easter eggs (like the bridgekeeper - monty python and the holy grail)

Gaunt
01-01-2005, 05:30 PM
and the star trek crashed shuttle craft with lots of dead ensign red shirts around was always good for pickin up hypos

and on the weapons side the Combat Shotgun owned everything

JJXB
01-01-2005, 05:35 PM
nah, the bozar was better

In my game I have an Uzi, it can kill most things with one burst shot and it looks cool with my leather jacket and slaver tattoo

Haha, finally got kicked off of Psycho chems (only took on >_> ). Still got one lower intelligence and one lower agility now. Still kicking off from the Mentats  Serious overdose on that one... Intelligence: 10 - Heroic, at one point.

Havell

I used to be a big melee fighter but then I realized that if you are close to someone then you can uzi burst shot them, sometimes doing more than 100 damage and usually causing super mess :butcher:.

Heres some random information on Fallout 3! Which was being developed by Black Isle Studios (The folks who brought you Neverwinter Nights, Bladurs Gate, Icewind Dale, and so on, and so forth.) But unfortunatly Black Isle is no more. Howver Bethesda Softworks (Morrowind) Is taking over the development. So Fallout lives again! Here is some more Info. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/fallout3/news_6102349.html
The Viking has spoken! :Titan:

OK, I thought I'd just necro this thread to ask a question to one of the fallout2philes on this forum. I'm in New Reno and I just bonked Mrs. Bishop, I'm now upstairs in the bishop house and her husband seems to be guarding the only way out, any ideas on how I could get myself out of this mess?

EDIT: I found out, you need to be with the Bishops to get past him. But I don't know how to get in them, I go to the base of the steps but the guards won't let me up.

Does this happen to other people too :eeeeeh: oh sorry got off track, Do you have the briefcase that Bishop wants I just believe you can just give it to him and he won't notice that you and his wife are smoking a cigarette. Don't forget to check out the safes...but beward of traps that you have to disarm

if that doesn't work you might have to shoot the guy, they don't have balconys to climb onto in Fallout

I believe Bishop attacks you if you enter the room he's in several times after having accepted his ques, but before completing it. I think the only solution is tp either sneak past him or load (or kill him and his cronies and forget about his quests). Consult Per's guide (http://user.tninet.se/~wcw454p/guides.html) for further information.

First post!

Just wanted to say how much I love the Fallout RPGs. The rest of the games...bleh.

Having gotten every single quest, perk, and easter egg in the games, I'd highly recommend this site: http://user.tninet.se/~wcw454p/guides.html Enjoy :ok:

Fallout 1 is good, but too short
Fallout 2 is great
Fallout Tactics is also great because i prefer real time mode and teamplay - fallout 2 doesn't have any of them.
OK. It has got teamplay, but your teammates are just idiots! I've died about ten times from my pal, mutie with a minigun.
