Yo, Japo. In the google doc it says you have the third part of Ultima, Exodus. But it's not on FTP. Can you upload it now? We've found a reviewer eager to write some words on it.

Just done.
However the archive (which I downloaded from somewhere) seems to be patched, presumably not by the game authors although I really don't know. The patch contains a program that changes the CGA palette. This game originally uses the ugly one with pink (yes, even if you emulate a CGA card in DOSBox, so it makes no difference).
I separated the patch from the archive, but there's one file the patch must have overwritten and I don't have the original, :( so I had to leave it. Maybe we can find an original archive from someone or somewhere else, in the meantime Arlesya can play this to review the game.
There's also a fan-made patch that changes the graphics to 16 colours:

I don't think any of these patches belong in Abandonia? (Nevertheless the program that changes the CGA palette may work with any game--and it works just the same with DOSBox emulating the default SVGA.)
Anyway I also found a nice homebrew extra (maps) in the same download, and separated it too; that on the other hand will be a nice addition.
The patch also advises that the game must be played with American keyboard layout.

I'll ask Nick about the original version.

Ok. Nick uploaded his version on the FTP and I've given it to arlesya.
OK. I see it doesn't even have already created characters--I though those might come with the game.
There's still the maps extra.

- registry fix
This game is for Windows 95 and stores its configuration in the registry. The first time I unzipped and started it, the resolution was incompatible and I saw only half of the image. All was right when I switched to a normal value such as 640x480, 800x600, etc. But that configuration isn't stored in the game folder, but in the registry, so I can't include it in the archive. I've included a separate registry fix, although I don't think it's necessary to provide it.
As we move into the land of games for Windows, our current practices for archives won't be applicable. I guess the answer lies in disc images.
Can you tell me what the use is for CGAPEPU3.COM?
Don't mind it. It's the program that came with the Ultima III patch, it changes the CGA palette. I've left it there in case I want to try it with other games.

Hey Japo, can you upload Space 1889 on site? There's a reviewer for it. :)
